They keep saying she’s going to turn west; I wish Claudette would get the message.
Is getting the hell out an option for you?
If not, hang tight and strap yourself in.
Thought you were getting ready for the Rapture. Not expecting it to come out in your favor, huh?
Here in Cajun country we’re expecting alot of Claudette’s rain. If she keeps heading north instead we’re going to catch the brunt of it.
Batteries? nope
Water? yep
Candles? oil lamps
I keep trying to remember which hurricane it was a few years back - maybe 9-10 years ago - which knocked electricity out all over the place - horrid flood waters kept repair crews away from the worst of the damage. By day four - I would’ve paid obscene money for a cup of ice.
Hey! She turned! Good luck, Corpus Christi! I somehow still believe the forecast of 100% chance of rain tomorrow. Lots of rain.
Woo Hoo!!
Corpus can have her. I rode out Carla and 3 others there, and more than that here. Houston’s too overbuilt to deal with another flood. Farther inland, but too much concrete, no runoff.
Remember a couple years ago?? Some of the places in the Medical Center just got their walls finished out…
Yeah. Allison was a real hoot.
And I did Carla here, DD; a Cat 4 IIRC. And Alicia, a Cat 3. This’ll only be a Cat 1, but that’s plenty. Remember, Allison didn’t make it to hurricane, and she still stopped this city dead.
Allison dumped a LOT of rain. She was dumping rain on New Orleans for several days just before the moving van with our furniture arrived; when the mover got here the evening before, he and his crew had a little prayer meeting. It worked; the sun broke out the next morning as they pulled up in front of the house.
I hope Claudette doesn’t do too much damage, wherever she goes. And I REALLY hope she doesn’t make a hard right turn and end up here!!
