Battle of the jailbait superheroines: Kim Possible versus Gwen Tennyson!

We haven’t had a hoo’d win thread in ages (or I haven’t seen one, which is all that really matters given my egoism). This has led to unacceptably non-stupid levels of discourse in this forum; this must stop. Thus I give you the battle of the jailbait superheroines thread.

In this corner we have Kim Possible, redheaded protagonist f the eponymous Disney series.

In the other we have Gwen Tennyson, redheaded cousin of the title character of Ben 10: Alien Force.

On the surface, Gwen seems to have the advantage, as she has actual super-powers and is basically Jean Grey light. On the other hand, Kim’s entire schtick is that, with no powers or training, she can do pretty much anything she puts her mind to. Moreover, she is a full-blown, no-two-ways-about-it hero, whereas Gwen is but a sidekick.

For purposes of this silliness, assume that we’re talking the super-powered, 16-year-old Gwen, and that Kim is wearing the best of her battlesuits. Neither of them has any backup. They’re fighting over, oh, whatever teenage girls fight over. Let’s say they’ve both broken up with their boyfriends and have gone to Baskin-Robbins to sulk over Rocky Road, only to discover there’s only enough left for one cup. Glares are exchanged, then insults, and then punches.

Thoughts?

Gwen Tennyson would mop the floor with Kim Possible. Then she’d eat the Rocky Road ice cream, intentionally drip a little off her spoon, and mop the floor with Kim Possible again.

I think you’re overlooking the hero-versus-sidekick thing. Gwen’s much more powerful, but I think Kim has that going for her, plus being smarter and sneakier. Admittedly Gwen can take Kim out with any one shot, but she’ll have a hard time landing that shot (given Kim’s agility and insane luck), and is likely to succumb to Kim’s taunting her into not using a wide-angle attack.

On the other hand, Gwen will certainly be throwing the first punch (or pink ray blast) here. You know the fight begins when Kim effortlessly wins the war of words and Gwen loses her temper at being mocked.

Can Midvale-orphanage-era Supergirl jump in?

How about she fights the winner? (Almost certainly Gwen.) Or put her up against Mary Marvel or Raven, if you care to postulate an amusing scenario.

Kim. If she’s prepared. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is Ron around? Because Ron means Rufus - and Rufus and Kim are unbeatable.

But if Ron is the boyfriend she just broke up with, Rufus will have to rescue Kim later.

Well, of course Ron’s the boyfriend she just broke up with. Does Kim have another boyfriend I’m not aware of? I’m not counting

me. That’s a different Kim, and I’m not her boyfriend anyway.

I’m assuming that Ron isn’t there, because it seems unfair to include him and Rufus but not Ben & Kevin. And despite R & R’s crazy luck, that three-on-three fight is simply a massacre. Hell, any one of Ben’s crew has a good chance of taking on Kim’s entire crew without help.

In other matters

I’m not sure whether to be pleased or vexed that nobody’s suggested moving the fight to a mud-wrestling emporium yet, or suggested that Shego might intervene if she saw Kim losing out of motives both she and Kim are aware of but will never ever admit to

since that would allow someone to quote Firefly.

Would it reassure you to learn that it’s apparently impossible to image-search either without finding at least three porn pictures on the first page?

It’s quite possible. Step one is to turn on SafeSearch.

You must not spend any time on the internet with kids around if THAT didn’t occur to you.

NO! Kim must be in her cheerleader outfit!
I don’t know who would win, though.

If Kim is wearing her best battlesuit, she effectively has super powers as well. Unfortunately, I don’t know enough about Gwen to make an informed decision on how powerful she actually is. But Kim holds her own against super-powered foes all the time, so I don’t think that in and of itself should give Gwen the win.

As a big KP fan, what really worries me is Gwen’s telepathy, because I don’t know how powerful it is, or whether it could be blocked by scientific means. If not, Gwen could short-circuit Kim’s battle suit fairly early on.

Look, by any use of dramatic convention it has to be Kim as the winner. Remember, this is fantasy, here. Kim is the title character. She’s going to win, despite any short term defeats.

But it’s a crossover, so that rule doesn’t count.

Kim is a disciplined martial artist.

Gwen is a suburban brat, magical or no. Kim in three rounds.

I’m not sure that’s true. The applicable rules of narrative structure depend on whose show the fight is happening on. If it’s a KP episode and the fight is done seriously, they either fight a draw and then team up, or Gwen wins easily the first time, Kim retreats to regroup and rethink, and takes her in the rematch. If it’s a B10 episode, Kim clocks Gwen with one punch, as Gwen is a sidekick, only to be taken out by Ben, who outstrips either of them.

(Then he loses to Supergirl, who has the advantages of being to him as he as to Kim, and a distractingly hot chick to boot.)

But Kim Possible is an action comedy, so she’s allowed to lose when it’s funny. **Sauron[/B’]'s stipulation is just silly enough to be allowed.

I’ll be eagerly watching with my arm around Erin from Esurance.

ETA: I had to google Gwen Tennyson because I had no idea who she was, and half of the image results had her nude and involved in sex acts with other cartoon characters. People are wierd.

Not a huge watcher of either but yeah, that seems to be right. I don’t think KP ever out and out loses (well at the end didn’t Ron develop some super power … mystic monkey or something … and save her, but other than that …), but a side kick gets taken out all the time.

Sorry it has taken us so long Skald.

I’ll be in my bunk.

It’s too late. It was obviously just a pity pander. I blame myself for including two jailbait gladiatrixes.
