These “battles” give us a new notch in the downward spiral of video: “Straight to YouTube.”
Thankfully, @dkw, your commentary is more fun than these feeble contests. I bow to your command of the language!

Oh, well. I looked at the Youtube Battlebots home page and given the huge collection of past fights, there’s plenty of good stuff to relive amongst the dreck. I sent the link to a fellow BB enthusiast, who appreciated it, so there’s that.
I kinda liked it without all the inane commentary. I generally skip past all of the none-actual-fight stuff anyways. Just wish the matchups had been better.
bobsmom101 -Awwww… The funny thing is, I don’t really have all that much pop culture knowledge. Not because I hate it, but there are just so many entertainment options now I don’t bother with the big ones. I never saw a second The Sopranos or Game of Thrones, or any of the Harry Potter movies, or any of the modern superhero movies (aside form a few minutes in a mall), I’m not a fan of any even pretty big sport, I don’t follow hip hop at all, I never understood what was so special about BTS, etc. I’m just working with what I have. Thankfully finding references is much easier than it used to be.
I can say proudly that until very recently I had only the vaguest notion of who Taylor Swift is. I still couldn’t recognize any of her music, even if a Jeopardy Daily Double was riding on it. But I sure do love a good robot slam-fest and I really miss Grant Imahara
