I typed the offending hacker’s name into the “Find a soldier” requester on Battlelog. When it comes up, click on the name next to the dog tags again, and on that page, in the upper-right corner of the white part of the page, there’s a small triangle with an exclamation mark in it. Left-click it, and select “report profile”. Type in your complaint. In my case, I pointed out that the player averaged in excess of 3,000 points per minute, and said I saw him rack up a 100-1 KDR in-game.
I checked the hacker’s friend list, and ones that had similar points/min also got reported. I got an email back that they were checking into it, and they couldn’t tell me more for privacy reasons. A couple days later, one of the accts was zeroed, but others were not. I didn’t look at the accounts again.
There are a few charts out there now. I’m not sure which have been updated for any balance changes in recent patches, but a few weapons clearly stand out (unless they’ve been recently nerfed.)
The G3A3 & SCAR-H stand out, as they seem to require one bullet fewer to kill than other Rifles or SMGs. Perhaps there’s some drawback to these weapons, but I haven’t noticed it myself. They appear to be just “better.”
DICE has a habit of doing this for some reason. BFBC2 also had a couple weapons that were just way better than all the rest until they eventually nerfed them. (Remember the M60?)
Even though there are a few standouts, I don’t think any one particular weapon is super imbalanced, though.
For assault: AEK-971, F2000 (I personally think it’s overrated, but whatever), and the G3A3 are probably the undisputed top three. The M416 is a surprisingly effective underdog that’s slowly catching on.
Support: MG36 is clearly superior to the rest, which are about equal (other than the M60 which is supposedly bad)
Engineer: SCAR, no question, but the G36 is a solid all-rounder. MP7 gets a lot of play here as well.
Recon: M82, by virtue of its high damage. SV98 is very good too.
ETA: Phatlewt, the differences in damage are supposed to reflect the different rounds (5.56 vs 7.62) being fired. This is generally balanced by lower rates of fire and high recoil - 7.62 weapons as a whole took a significant nerf last patch. In my experience in this game, rate of fire usually beats damage.
I had finally completed the assignment “let it rain.” I hate this assignment because you have to get two kills with the mortar. I hate the mortar, the most boring weapon in the game.
I finally completed it. Then the game crashed and now I have to redo it.
I’ve been plagued by crashes lately. I lost lots unlocks because of it. And yeah, the mortar sucks. I’d drop one on a group and get the X of a hit, but not get a kill. A direct mortar hit should kill you. BTW, the mortar is great for farming the anti-explosives ribbon..usually you can destroy 2 mines with one shell.
X doesn’t mean a direct hit, it just means you did damage. You could’ve landed a shell 20 feet away from a guy and he just took 3 damage from it and still get the X.
In my experience your best bet is to look for snipers or snipers dens. It is easy to get direct hits on nonmobile targets. You can also due a lot of damage to vehicles. It also has the benefit of killing the tanks pocket healer as he cant use the tank for cover. It is also very good at protecting an armed mcom station on rush. You know the team is going to rush the station so just drop on it. I think the mortar tube is one of the most underrated kits. Idiots just sit in the spawn and spam it. I use it a mobile artillary. I setup drop 2-3 shells on a hotspot or tank and move on.
It’d be overpowered if it was able to 1-shot. I think it should have a VERY small radius of beint a 1-shot. If you make the 1-shot radius too big, you’d see far more mortaring. I agree that it’s probably a bit too small right now.
Anyone know when the Type 88 LMG will become available for normal people? Supposedly, the physical warfare pack was to eventually drop for non-GameSpot preorder people at some point.
So are you guys still playing the game? I recently got the game (thanks again Gambit) and would like to get in on something more tactical as compared to random pub games.
I haven’t in a few weeks, mostly because we played every single day and I got somewhat burnt out, but I’ve been looking to get back into it. Just been busy with a new job, so I’m often not home until later than we usually play.
