During the loading screen we sometimes hear a military cadence being sung. The only lyrics I can make out are “here we go”. It doesn’t seem to be “Here we go again” which is a real military cadence. Does anypony know if the cadence we hear during the loading screen exists and what its title is?
Game-related: Once you make it to about level 12, you get the explosive perk which gives you more explosive ammo. Engineer+explosives perk gives you 10 RPGs. Once everypony has that, small cramped interior maps like Métro will be…interesting.
Well, I am asking if they improve handling and recoil when using them.
Also, I can’t see how it couldn’t be “better” when comparing the steel sighted starter carbine with a top of the line carbine with larger magazine, better optics and a vertical foregrip, BYMMV.
Make no mistake, I know all too well that the tools don’t do the job. But, better tools always helps do a job better.
For instance, youy can give me the finest golf driver that money can buy and I will still slice one into the woods.
A pro could smash the ball with my cheap, 20 year old clubs. But they could really put a whoopin on it with the fancy driver I used.
Anyway, was just looking for some personal experience with higher end weapons.
Slowly starting to get the hang of the controls and stuff, although there is still plenty that I don’t know. I’m gratified to learn that at least some of COD skills can translate to this game, and so far I seem to do best when I’m playing team deathmatch.
I found the SDMB server and added it to my favorites, and I also applied to join the SDMB platoon. Anything else I should do while I’m setting up?
OK chuckleheads I’ve got some time at home and I bit the bullet on BF3, so I’m joining up.
Pilot141 was taken so it defaulted to my EA login, which is furloughedtofdx.
Sorry about the long name, but I was desperate to just get going by then.
Just applied to join the platoon and I’ll be trying to add everyone as friends.
Also, anyone experienced or found a solution for the joystick bug? I normally have a joystick plugged into my rig for flying games, but with BF3 it causes either continuous fire in MP or the inability to fire in SP. I fixed it by unplugging the joystick, but I was really looking forward to flying some helos and jets with the joystick in this game. I’m sure it will be addressed in one the cascade of patches, but I was wondering if there was another workaround.
I look forward to being able to show my skeelz by NOT getting hit by Beef from a mile away!
Oooooh I just found about some in game commands I can use, including the ability to move people from team to team and from squad to squad. Should make it easier for us to team up.
If anyone want’s to co admin the server, let me know. I’ll add you to the admin list and give you a list of the commands.
I went to the SDMB server to play around with vehicles and get some practice but there appears to be a minimum amount of people present before you can move around at all.
Is that restriction always present?
Also, is there any way to see both our ping and frame rate while in game?
Well, there are some restrictions that EA places on servers in order for them to
1 - Appear on the server browser at all.
2 - Appear under one of the game difficulty levels (normal, hard-core, etc)
3 - Be available for pubs hitting the “quick match” button.
I have it configured so that we get hit up with Normal and quick matches so as to make sure we get a lot of pubs to come in and join us.
What I’ll probably do is just make it more accessible to US during off-peak times, and then switch ti back for when we’re all playing and we want some pubs to shoot.
Hey Kinthalis, just wanted to say thanks for all the work and effort with the server.
It falls into the category of “crap I don’t want to deal with” and I appreciate you taking it upon yourself, that goes for anyone helping out, especially where I am concerned.
Thanks for taking your ingame time to try and be helpful.
We’re starting up soon. You can come by now, or join us later. If I’m on your buddy list, you cna use the join button, or do a search for the SDMB server.
