Could be that Ron Moore doesn’t know who they are yet. Get the impression that this show is not like Babylon 5, where the whole story was plotted out from the begining. Maybe he’s trying to keep his options open for future seasons…
That’s the real-life explanation. What’s the in-show explanation?
I just don’t think we’ve had the opportunity to see Caprica Six with Baltar. It’s only been a few episodes since it was revealed that she could see him at all. There’s no reason to think she can’t see him anymore, and the idea of Six being mindfucked by ImaginaryBaltar the way ImaginarySix fucked with the real Baltar for two seasons is too delicious to be discarded like that. My money says she still sees him, and that will play a larger roll in the rest of this season.
If she’s not the Galactica Boomer, where did she get all those Galactica marines that landed with her in the raptor?
Dang it, y’all are going to force me to re-watch the show because now there are two things bugging me.
First, it seemed Tyrol knew Gaeta was the one delivering the super-secret information from deep within Baltar’s office, but it never once occurred to him Gaeta might be the originator of the super-secret information from deep within Baltar’s office.
Second, what Galactica Marines? I thought Boomer showed up alone at the rendezvous with Anders? Well, alone except for the squad of Centurions.
I seem to recall, when we see them picking up the first drop, Tyrol saying specifically that they don’t know who is giving them the information.
Man, I wish I had it on tape so I could verify this, but I’d’ve sworn that Boomer came in with two raptors and a squad of marines. Wasn’t that the whole plan? Putting some combat troops with real weapons on the ground, to help the resistance when Galactica finally came back to pull everyone off the planet?
That was my understanding. I thought I saw marines behind Boomer in that scene…
I’m starting to re-watch parts of it now. Your memory is right on. We see two raptors FTL jumping into a valley area. Boomer gets out with a squad of marines and tells them, “stay back and provide cover.”
Then we see a lone Boomer come out of the trees and say, “Go Panthers!” Anders replies, “C-Bucks rule!” They embrace and Anders gives her a (to me) pretty suspicious look. Anders says “let’s go.” Boomer moves off with them.
While she’s with Anders, she never mentions or regroups with the marines supposedly behind her providing cover. When they are “ambushed” we don’t see any marines providing cover. So, it’s still open as to whether that was the good Boomer or a bad Boomer.
Yeah, again, exactly my point. There are obvious production level reasons for not showing the other models. But we also need a in-universe explanation to go with it. It’s especially odd given that:
- there are many many MULTIPLE versions of the already revealed Cylons running around: so bodies sure aren’t in short supply
- it seems like there is a sort of voting bloc thing with the models, begging the question as to why the others model aren’t at least represented on Caprica.
There’s less than fifty thousand humans left in the galaxy, whereas the Cylons still have a large (and growing) empire. It could be that tasks are divided up among the population according to model number, and the Cylon models we haven’t seen yet are busy working on Cylon concerns unrelated to the human problem.
I never even got the sense that we were supposed to think that was bad Boomer. They got ambushed because Ellen betrayed the colonists, no? Isn’t that the “location of the high level meeting” thing she was asked to deliver to the Cylons?
Could well be. That is the good Boomer. She wisely told her marines to remain back. Ellen only thinks this is a high-level meeting, but doesn’t know it’s part of a Galactica rescue plan. The Cylons aren’t expecting two Raptors & some marines, so won’t bother looking for them. The marines help rescue Boomer & Anders, and the resistance gets its weapons.
When Tigh figures what happened Ellen is going to get the sternest of talking-to’s though.
Speaking of which:
The TvGuide description of Exodus 2 (airing in two weeks) says that the ep is about what happens when Tigh figures out Ellen’s betrayal.
(this is a spoiler, but only from Tvguide’s summary of the next two upcoming episodes, and doesn’t give anything away about any of the other cliffhangers in this ep, just about a particular confrontation we all know is coming anyway)
Old Caprica wasn’t that safe - there were humans running around there, too, as evidenced by Anders blowing up the cafe.
Anyways, I think I recall seeing a question posed to Moore about this, and his basic response regarding Anders and The Other Five models was “That would ruin too much potential fun, so I’m not even going to address it in the show.”
Don’t like it, compain to RDM.

I’m thinking it’s probably not an accident that the religious fanatic Leoben model isn’t represented at any of the planning meetings we’ve seen so far.
Ok, as long as they do feel obligated to explain it at SOME point.
Well, thanks to your spoiler about “a particular confrontation we all know is coming anyway,” I no longer need amuse myself speculating whether Tigh was feeding Ellen disinformation or not.
But the make-up sex will be incredible.
What?
That’s not really a spoiler. Even if Tigh is feeding her disinformation, she’s still betraying the resistance. When she no longer is a useful conduit for passing bad info to the Cylons, Tigh is likely to have some very harsh words with Ellen.
Maybe some harsh bullets, too.
Could it be a reference to betrayal as in screwing a Cylon?
Well it sure wasn’t going to be me! I spent most of the time that he was onscreen thinking “wow, he was kind of hot before, but he looks totally shitty with a beard! They sure took away 100% of his sex appeal…”
But then, I think most facial hair is unattractive at best.
