Battlestar Galactica 3.7 - "A Measure of Salvation" (spoilers)

All of this has had spoilers before, and all of this will have spoilers again.

Spoiler policy: If it’s been aired, or if it’s purely speculative, no need for a spoiler box. If it’s from a future episode, as revealed in interviews or web content or by any other means, or if it’s speculation based on same, then hide it with a spoiler box, and provide a label for the spoiler so we can decide for ourselves whether or not it’s something we wish to know.

Example:Joss Whedon is writing an episode of Galactica about
you wish.

Though, from what I read, the episode by Buffy writer Jane Espenson is supposed to be next week. So there’s that.
All right, what’s going on:

Holy crap, what isn’t going on?

Starbuck cut her hair and appears to be on the road to rediscovery.

Tigh cut his ties and is holed up in his quarters.

Adama cut both of them off at the knees.

Baltar cut his losses and is cooperating with the Cylons out of sheer self-preservation.

Roslin cut a deal and is back in power.

Apollo cut back on the fudge and is, again, cut.

I can’t think of what Sharon/Athena might be cutting, but I’m sure there must be something.

(Hmm… did Cally and Tyrol schedule their kid for a brit milah?)

And, of course, there’s this weird-ass frakking capsule thingy spreading a devastating plague among the Cylons.

Tonight at 9pm on Sci-Fi. Be there!

Oh, I missed one:

Anders decided to cut and run.

I wont mind seeing Starbuck get back into ship life, I just hope they make it a little tough on her. She’s been through alot and that has to affect you somehow. At the very least she shouldn’t be the “best” of anything for a while…

I think Starbuck will struggle for most of the season. She almost has to, after what she’s been through recently. Also think she’s going to recover, eventually, but she’s done with Anders.

Really interested to see what happens to Tigh. I’m thinking he may not recover. He may just crawl into a bottle and fade away.

I don’t have anyone on deathwatch this week…but

Web content spoiler

Boomer/Athena appears to have been infected by the virus. It appears to be relatively quick acting. They’ll either have to find a cure of she’s a goner. Also gonna be interesting to see how RDM handles the genocide weapon issue…

You know your truly fracked when:

Cat is your CAG.
Starbuck and Tigh agree on anything.
Even the Cylons won’t go near it.

Yeah I want to know what’s up with the probe thing. I prefer mysteries to soap opera on my battlestars.

The genocide issue is interesting, but the Cylons reduced the Colonials from a thriving civilization of 20,000,000,000 on 12 planets to 40,000 desperate refugees cramed into a couple of ships. The Colonials are faced with the threat of extinction or enslavement. They don’t have the luxury of moral superiority.

The thing with genocide is, we KNOW it can’t happen. Without Cylons, all our Gallaticky Goodness turns into Lost in Space. The fun part will be in seeing why it doesn’t happen…will they try it and fail? Will they try it and wipeout the closest pursuers, but really piss off the Cylon homeworld? Will they decide not to try it? Will they hold it as a desperation “ace in the hole”?

So, maybe they can whack most of the Cylons. Then it will be like a James Fennimore Cooper novel: “The Indians (Cylons) chased us a while, then we chased the Indians for a while. Then the Indians chased us, and…”

I hope not. It just isn’t believable that the Colonials wouldn’t try to wipe out the Cylons. Having them try and fail would be interesting. So would having them only partially suceed and really pissing off the surviving Cylons.

I just threw up in my mouth, a little.

Post-pubescent girlz with superpowers on BSG = pukey smiley

Sir, you forget Hera. Moore could still do a “V” on us here.

We really need a pukey smiley.

This show could use a Whedon episode. We’d get some great character interaction and dialogue but he wouldn’t have time to create too many angst-filled super-heroines.

41,420 survivors. Really like the way they shot the intro scene.

Even dying basestars never loose artificial gravity or life support  . Seriously what was up with the team not wearing their spacesuits? Did it not occur to them there might be some kind of contamination? :smack:

Hey, at least they remembered to bring the garage door opener…

And Lucy Lawless shoulda busted out the Xena costume for the Dominatrix bit…

Hm. Well Athen’s most likely infected. What to do? Maybe go get Hera and the magic baby blood? Maybe rescue Baltar along the way?

Seeing as the Colonials have a vaccine I think Sharon’s safe.
