Battlestar Galactica 4.9 - "Guess What's Coming to Dinner" (spoilers)

At least out of sight, so she wouldn’t see her mom kill the Six. Athena did ask for confirmation of that before pulling the trigger. From there? Another mystery.

Tory did Nicky the same “favor” before opening the airlock on Callie. A mighty thoughtful bunch, these skinjobs.

I think the double cross was not planned for until after the D’Anna was unboxed right? The Cylons decided that after the 5 were revealed, then they would keep the humans hostage until the 5 were returned to them - right? Although I was sort of distracted by Leoben’s terrible shirt in that scene…

And weren’t the humans planning a double cross of their own? Sort of a, “Well, once we get to Earth, we’ll see…” sort of thing?

Also, are the Dylan 4 having secret cylon meetings? That was sort of funny. Also Tigh’s comment, “Well, at least we’ll find out who the fifth one is…”

…Secondly on the next episode teaser…
There is a quick shot of Natalie on what looks like a white bed. It is a closeup of her face. The only way I can describe it is that she doesn’t look dead. Why would they show a dead Natalie in the next episode if we were supposed to assume that she is already dead? Her face is full of color. Secondly when she got shot, she was sort of writhing in pain but didn’t stop moving..

Also, I did notice that lawyer guy. Also notice that Lee was being sworn in as, I guess, President in Roslin’s absence…

I didn’t notice the part with Lee being sworn in. I did notice Zarek and the Quorum on Colonial One when Galactica jumped away unexpectedly. Why would Lee become Acting President ahead of Zarek anyway?
Did anybody take down the lyrics from Felix’s song? As in, are there any clues there? Poor guy - Cottle promised him not to take his leg off, and the first instrument he reaches for is the bone saw. Why the hell did Cottle even bother?..
Cottle didn’t promis not to amputate his leg. He agreed to Gaeta’s request that he use a local instead of general anesthesia. Isn’t it odd that the Galactica doesn’t appear to have an proper operating room? Just a clear plastic tent set up in the middle of the ward.
The deal is, this is the last Battlestar, the last humans. The Cylons have occupied the Colony worlds and will continue to exist with out regard to the humans and pursuing Cylons. ANY choice to trust the Cylons has two possibilites:
(1) They are lying, humans will die.
(2) They are telling the truth, things may or may not work out.
Given that this is the last chance for the Human race, I say, screw the Cylons whenever possible. Wish Adama could nuke them from orbit.
Except that he can’t. The alternative to not trusting the Cyclons is to continue wandering the endless void of space until they run out of fuel, critical supplies or spare parts.
Gaeta doesn’t seem to be dealing with his missing leg as well as Tigh dealt with his missing eye. Maybe they are going to use all the spare parts to build the 12th Cylon like an old Viper?

Is it confirmed that Natalie 6 is dead? Because I thought I saw her in a hospital gurney in next episode’s preview. And the 8s aren’t renown for their aim.

I have this strong feeling that we’re going to find out that we, us humans here and now in 2008, are all descendants from cylons. The humans of BSG will all die and the toasters will find earth, circa 20 000 b.c., rout the Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons (heavily using the chromejobs) and start pretending they’re the real humans.
Somehow it would fit the premise of the show to do a ‘Planet of the Apes’ final episode.
Since “all of this has happened before”.

It would also explain how the greatest achievment of design by humans is a Citroën DS23
Yeah, Moore might do that to us. I hope not.

Except that, if you believe the Hybrid, the Five are *from * Earth. Unless the Cro-Magnons invented jump drives, their Earth will have to be in our future, not our past (and certainly not 1980, thank the gods).

But don’t sweat it, all of this will happen again.

That would be utterly and completely AWESOME if it was 1980 when they find Earth. Or better still, 1987 or so, and they drop into a Rick Astley concert where he’s playing you-know-which song.

Yeah, with flying motorcycles.

And space kids jumping high into the air!
The double cross hadn’t happened yet and we had reason to believe it wouldn’t happen because Natalie convinced Leoben to call it off. When Athena shot Natalie, the double cross happened as originally planned. Your analogy doesn’t work, sorry.
How do you figure the double-cross happened as originally planned? The hybrid jumped, before anyone knew that Natalie had been shot. IIRC wasn’t the hybrid in the middle of a jump sequence when it had been taken offline last time?
Based on what? There’s a good case for either her, Baltar or Thrace. (And if one of the three is a Cylon, it’ll still take some serious explainin’ to account for all the weirdness involving the other two.)
Or Gaeta.

Tori: Gaeta’s singing. He’s singing.

I’m sorry, I misspoke. It happened after all, though not as originally planned (which was supposed to be after D’Anna was liberated). I do think the Hybrid somehow knew Natalie had been shot, and that’s why she jumped, but I have no proof of that. The way the scene was cut together made it seem like Natalie being shot caused the Hybrid to jump the basestar, enacting the previously planned double cross.

Only if they plan to copy the end of the old BBC Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, with the B Ark crash landing on Earth.

In which case, I look forward to Simon Jones as the 12th Cylon.

Well, if Dirk Benedict shows up, all bets are off.

There was no Resurrection Ship near the ambush site. They are no longer near the ambush site. There used to be a Cylon fleet following Galactica around, with its own Resurrection Ship, maybe in range. The Resurrection Hub is not yet destroyed. She could still res. She is still a Cylon, and it’d be a typical Cavil mindfrak to do that to her (as he did to D’Anna).

No I meant killed by the initial gunshots.

Hmm. I thought the hybrid jumped as soon as she was plugged in. I assumed she jumped because she suddenly became conscious only to find herself surrounded by enemies.

That was my thought as well.
