Maybe I’m reading more into it than is there. My reasoning was, the way they cut together the killing of Natalie with the replugging of the hybrid, that the hybrid was jumping because of Natalie getting shot. The hybrid didn’t even have time to register that she was surrounded by enemies-- she was plugged, became aware, and instantly said JUMP!
msmith537, I saw a tube coming out of Natalie in the preview. I thought that meant she was shot but not killed and was being treated for the gunshot wound, not resurrected.
I thought the hybrids were so integrated with their basestars that they were almost one being. If true, her first realization upon “waking up” was probably that she/the basestar were in the middle of the colonial fleet staring down at Galactica. Probably a very dangerous place to be, given that the basestar wasn’t operating at full capacity.
I’m just guessing because her scream “jump” seemed totally terrified to me. The same why I’d react if I woke up to be surrounded by hungry tigers (except I wouldn’t have the option of jumping out).
I agree that it doesn’t make any sense. But never the less, I saw him standing in front of someone with his hand raised like he was citing an oath. Make of that what you will.
I must have lost track of something. Last I remember of Hera, her parents thought she was dead, Roslyn had hid her somewhere, and she was getting lost in a scuffle during the escape from New Caprica.
What am I forgetting?
In any case, one thing from this episode seemed totally ridiculous to me, which was Roslyn publically announcing what was going on. So you are on a secret mission to utterly cripple the Cylons, you have no reason to think there aren’t still Cylon spies in the fleet, so you publically announce precisely what you’re doing? Huh?
My first thought was, “President Lee?” It could, however, be Vice-President Lee. That would make more sense, given that he’s as close to Zarek as anyone. Zarek would assume the Presidency (or acting Presidency) with Roslin missing, and then he would need a Vice-President.
And only after Lee gave her that little talk about providing leadership. I did expect him to launch into a speech about the importance of democracy there, and Bamber did play it as if he were considering it, but the writers surprised me yet again with their refusal to indulge in stereotyping the characters even by their own previous behavior. Lee knew that approach wouldn’t work on someone with a well-developed messiah complex (which may not even *be * a complex), instead he indirectly reminded her that she needed the Quorum’s support just to hold onto her power. That’s what I love most about the show - it’s written and acted as if the characters are real people. Pity it’s such a rare thing on TV.
I didn’t see the Hybrid as thinking any more deeply than “This situation has to be frakked up bad for me to get unplugged. I’m getting out of it NOW and I’ll sort it out from somewhere else”.
(Miniseries) Galactica was about to be decommissioned…
It’s limited resources have had to be spread to cover 40,000+ survivors for several years now…
Maybe a buncha stuff was shipped down to New Caprica, and then left during the rescue/evacuation…
Your point is valid enough, but I easily rationalize little things like this. Of more importance, where are they getting tobacco from, and high-qulity hooch for their hangar-deck bar?
The cylons had her on one of their baseships (and they knew who she was, how I am not sure). D’Anna was the one who told Athena that Hera was alive.
Athena wanted to go rescue her, but Adama refused, so she had Helo kill her and then she resurrected on the baseship and found her. There was some sort of scuffle, during which Boomer was shot. Then Athena, Hera and Caprica Six then returned to Galatica.
I least I think this is how it went down - anyone care to set me straight?
Tobacco - Cottle has requisitioned all the tobacco in the fleet. Don’t like it? Find another doctor.
Hootch - you can make booze out of just about anything. The stuff they have in the bar is only “high-quality” considering their vastly lowered standards (and don’t say “but it’s in expensive-looking bottles!” Bottles can be recycled).
Natalie’s been gutshot, which means she may survive for a few hours - does anyone else think that she’s the “dying leader” that there have been prophecies about since Season 1?
Skara_Brae, your recap of how Hera got to the fleet is correct. Boomer got shot by Caprica Six because she was threatening to kill Hera, then Cap 6 & Athena took Hera back to Galactica. That’s the 6 who’s now in lockup, spending quality time with Tigh.
This would be a great twist if its true. I hope she doesn’t die though - Who would lead the Cylon if she goes? Leoben (who’s totally insane) or one of the Eights (who can’t pick a side and stick?).
Maybe the Colonials will take her to the Resurrection Hub and get her a new body?
I think if the Wi Fi is down when you croak, you stay croaked.
On a similar note, why is Anders still moping about instead of being in the brig for shooting Gaeta, I being to lazy to check the spelling list.
