The one thing about that that did bother me is that Kate has contacts now; she’s not isolated in how she’s handling a post-crisis world. I wanted her to at least contact one (or more) of the rest of the league to ask whether they’d run across doppelgangers and how they were handling them. I’m ok with where things ended, I just wish they’d had a throwaway line along the way.
Over on Supergirl they showed doppelgangers blithely interacting with each other with nary a care in the world. Such careless inconsistency!
AT WHAT COST -* Batwoman and Luke are on the trail of a villain targeting social media mavens. Sophie gets an unexpected visit from her mother, and Mary offers her expertise to assist Kate. Jacob Kane is approached to make good on a favor, while Alice focuses on her plans for retribution.*

This week’s villain, Duela Dent, carves up social media influencers who’ve wronged her in some fashion, played by Alessandra Torresani. I’ve liked her ever since she played the first Cylon in Caprica. Since Alice left her to be arrested by the GCPD, rather than killing her, I’m hoping she comes back in the future. She’s related to Harvey Dent, she has to come back.
A great, solid episode with almost everything (including the villain-of-the-week) feeding into Alice’s confrontation with her abductor. Sophie was actually tolerable this week; her interaction with her mother explains why she’s been so reluctant to come out (even to herself). Mary was great as usual. She’s been dropping hints all over the place to Kate that she knows her secret identity. The question now is, when is Kate going to figure it out?
The only unrelated subplot was Jacob’s investigation into Lucious Fox’s murder. He seems nonplussed that a Crow could tamper with evidence. Has he already forgotten that his former #2, Dodgson, was secretly Alice’s #2? Plus, it’s Gotham; corruption is a way of life.
MOMMY DEAREST - More of Alice’s dark past is uncovered when Cartwright (guest star John Emmet Tracy) shares a twisted story with Kate while Jacob goes searching for his wayward daughter. Mary and Luke follow a lead on Beth’s killer.

Batwoman and all the other Arrowverse have shut down production due to Covid-19 concerns. There are only a few days left in the shooting schedule, so I don’t how this will impact the airing of the show.
How do you evoke sympathy for a psychopathic murderer? Have bigger psychopath behind her and then an even bigger psychopath behind them both. This show has gotten even more demented and I love it. Possibly the best episode of Batwoman yet.
Guess it has taken over Arrow for the dark show. Legends is the goofy one and Flash alternates.

FACING THE PAST - Kate begins to question her instincts and Luke gets upsetting news. Alice seeks her sister’s help with a special task.
Through the Looking Glass promo: - YouTube
This episode is called “Through the Looking Glass” while the Supergirl episode that airs right afterwards is entitled “Alex in Wonderland”. The two titles can’t be coincidental.
Another solid episode. Kate turned on Alice, and planned it all along; I didn’t see that coming at all. Plus Julia came back, and teamed up with Sophie. I hope she sticks around. They can do some more investigating of the Crows and Lucius Fox’s killer.
So Alice has lost not only her freedom but also her Wonderland gang. We never really got to know those rabbits. I mean, what was their motivation in following Alice?
Trying to think of the motive for Lucius Fox’s killing. He could have known something (knew about corruption and was killed to keep quiet) – seems probable.

I’m sure it had something to do with Batman or Bruce Wayne or both. It might even be tied in to Bruce’s disappearance.
My only problem with her turning on Alice is that Arkham is torture chamber - and Kate knows it.
It’s one thing to send someone to jail for life, it’s another to send someone to be abused by “medical professionals” for life. That doesn’t sit well for me.
Other than that, great episode. I’m really glad that they didn’t drag out Luke’s figuring out about his father’s real killing.
Kate was willing to let Alice die just a couple episodes ago. Leaving her at Arkham seems to be a step up.
WHO’S A HERO NOW? - Batwoman encounters a new challenge when an old villain resurfaces, testing the heroics of Gotham’s most stand-up citizens. Alice’s limits are tested.

Some good stuff in this episode:

[li]Mary finally telling Kate that she knows about Batwoman[/li][li]Mary’s conversation with Luke about Kate being Batwoman[/li][li]Sophie actually hitting it off with Julia and not being a complete twit[/li][li]Julia not only sticking around but also to be working with Sophie [/li][li]Commander Kane actually taking some positive action to save the citizens of Gotham City[/li][li]Alice and Mouse running Arkham Asylum[/li][li]The cut-rate Batwoman filling in in Kate’s absence[/li][/ul]
I wasn’t a fan of Kate’s PTSD, but it served to resolve Luke’s murder-death-kill rage, so I’ll give it a pass.
WHO CAN YOU TRUST? - Batwoman enlists Luke and Julia (guest star Christina Wolfe) for an undercover mission to recover one of the most important items from her cousin’s arsenal. While Alice continues developing her devious plans within Arkham’s walls, she gets an unexpected visit from Jacob Kane who needs her help. Meanwhile, Mary tries to prove herself to Kate. As Sophie gets closer to a co-worker, Kate reunites with an old flame.

Man, the fight scenes are getting better and better. I think they imported the entire Arrow stunt crew after that show ended. They’ve really found their groove in this episode.
Some great twists at the end. Reagan is working for Magpie and Julia is also working for some unknown entity to get the journal. The journal being encoded was not a surprise, though. And neither will I be surprised if we see both Magpie and Reagan again.
Mary as always was tonight’s MVP. Welcome to the Bat Family.
CRACKING THE CODE - *When members of Gotham’s intelligentsia begin disappearing, Commander Kane, Sophie and the Crows go searching for the newest homicidal threat to the city. In the meantime, Kate is consumed with someone’s betrayal and starts questioning the loyalty of everyone around her just when she needs them most. So when Luke and Julia (guest star Christina Wolfe) go missing, Batwoman must rely on Mary and a former foe to deploy her rescue mission. Meanwhile, Alice enlists Tommy Elliot (guest star Gabriel Mann) to help acquire an elusive item that her sister also seeks. *

Tommy Eliot became Hush rather more quickly than I thought he would. Some other things I never thought would be revealed so quickly: Reagan is Magpie’s sister. Julia is (was) working for Safiyah. Parker is let into the Batcave and Mary is understandably miffed. Julia and Sophie are a thing. Finally, Alice has the key to Lucius Fox’s journal. Does this mean kryptonite can penetrate the batsuit?
