BBC's "In the Flesh"

Didn’t see a thread for this yet. I believe this is a 3 episode mini-series (?) and while only 2 episodes in so far, I find it very engaging.

While I don’t think they’re going to get into what happened in rising specifically, I really appreciate all the plots going on and will be curious to see how this ties up. With the obvious comparison to " The Walking Dead" I find it much more engaging, though the tones are very different.

I assume this was previously broadcast across the pond, so any idea if this may develop into a further series?

Is this available to Americans yet? I’ve been wanting to see it but haven’t been able to.

It’s been on BBC America this week.

Oh yeah, we wanted to see that, too! Will have to go searching - yes! It is on Space Channel! I’ve missed the first ones, but I’m sure it will be re-broadcast.

We did talk about it when it came on in the UK. I really liked it - flawed but overall superb. Don’t think that there has been any talk of extending it at all, although there’s definitely elements which would work that way. I don’t want to spoil the last part for you, so I’ll comment no further on that!

One of the unexpected benefits for me was that it introduced me to Keaton Henson, particularly to the lovely and ethereal Corpse Roads (youtube link, although it looks like it’s just a still with the track behind it). It’s the track which is used at the end of (I think) episode 3, and it’s just gorgeous. It’s haunting me, but in a good way.
ETA: if you’re very spoiler-phobic and/or pretty unobservant/unimaginitive, don’t read the comments on that youtube link.

There’s also a different comment which says that the BBC has commissioned a new series for next year, but who knows how true that is.

I read on Usenet that there was a second series commissioned.

Interesting idea but kinda dull in execution.

I don’t really want to say much with only having seen pts 1 and 2 so far.

I’m a fan. I wanted to cry when the neighbor PDS sufferer was shot by Bill. What a bastard. Loved the Kieren and Rick twist.

BBC has confirmed new episodes for 2014. It was on their website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2013/in-the-flesh-commission.html

It’s back! I just saw an ad for a new season of In The Flesh on BBCAM, starting June 22.

Happy me. I really liked the original. I hope the new season is nearly as good.

Poo. I want at least season one on Netflix so I can see it, too ::: pout :::
