They were the first major corporation to announce, so maybe not fair to call their move as jumping on the bandwagon.
Regardless, after visiting Dick’s today for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I like Dick’s much better than Big 5 or Sports Authority. We supported Dick’s move by spending about a hundred bucks today. I’ll be making Dick’s the default shopping for basic sports clothing, camping supplies, crabbing supplies, etc.

And as expected lawsuits have been filed. A 20 year old in Oregon claims he was refused the sale of a rifle at Field and Stream (owned by Dick’s) and at Wal-Mart has filed an age discrimination suit against both companies.
Breitbart (I know how this place detests them) has a story with a link to a copy of the lawsuit filed against Dick’s.
Wal-mart spokesman said they will defend their policy. No word back from Dick’s as yet.
