Beat GTA IV, what now?

Well, I beat GTA IV after I killed Peligrino. I am at only 65% game completion. They added trophies though, so should I start over or try to get this 65% up? I am interested in starting a new game though to see what consequence my decisions have. Thanks for the input guys!!

There is an add-on for the game, The Lost and Damned, that you could try. I haven’t played it myself but it got good reviews on Metacritic. The 2nd add-on, The Ballad of Gay Tony, comes out next week.

They’re supposed to be releasing a disc that contains both add-ons next week as well. I’m not sure if it would be cheaper to wait for that or just buy them separately.

I never got past the bank robbery level. It’s so long that I can’t face retrying it.

Multiplayer is pretty fun. I still play now and then for MP racing. I tried for 100% on single player, but got stuck at 97 or so. Something to do with the friends and random encounters. Not a task I want to go back to. The expansions are Xbox exclusives btw.

That and the last mission are the only ones I remember as difficult.

Too many faults with GTA 4 compared to previous games. I have failed to get into the game several times.

I was in the same position – finished GTA IV (though I was pretty close to 100%) and looking for more. Now I can’t get enough Saints Row. #1 had some frame rate issues, but #2 is pure gold. You didn’t mention if you’re playing on PC or XBox though…I’ve heard there are issues with the PC versions.

I’m playing a lot of multiplayer GTA IV. It’s a lot of fun, though it can take a while to get a game to fill up. I’ve played through the game twice in single player, and am trying again with the goal of being as cheap as possible to see how much cash I can score.

BTW, the bank robbery mission is hard the first time through, but the 2nd time through I managed to do it in one go. My only recommendations are not to worry too much about killing every last enemy and concentrate more on following your friends.

It’s worth noting that the disc, Episodes From Liberty City, is a standalone version of these expansions. It doesn’t require you to have the original GTA4 to play this content.

And as Peanut Gallery brought up, the add-ons, whether as DLC or on disc, are for 360 only.

Since the OP mentions “They added trophies” I assume he’s not playing on a 360, which uses achievements, not trophies. Though if he happens to have both systems, he could still get the new disc, since it wouldn’t really matter that he played the original game on PS3, since it’s a standalone.

Play Saints Row 2.

Concur. In Saints Row 2, you never ever, ever, ever have to take your cousin or your gun dealer out on a date.

I finished The Ballad of Gay Tony last night. Still have a few things to complete (base jumping spots and one triathlon.

I enjoyed it more than The Lost and the Damned although I liked that as well. Good story and characters. I like how all the stories over the three games interact.
