...Because there's always room for another internet time waster...

I’ve been playing with this for a couple of hours now - very addictive: The Falling Sand Game.

It’s fun pouring oil on things and setting it on fire, or trying to grow plants at one end while you burn them at the other to get a perpetual motion thing going. Also, you can make sand art.

Well, that’s very cool. Wonder who originally coded it?

What plugin does it require?

All I see is a red x.

Very addicting! Like crack.

It’s a java applet.

I’ve been having fun lately making mixtures of salt and oil that burn, but very slowly. Seing if I can keep a blob of fire going in the middle of the stuff, being perpetually fed from on top.

Here’s a Fark thread discussing the game and the fun things you can do with it.

We had a thread on this a few months back but I don’t have a link.

I got hooked on this a few weeks ago, and my work productivity suffered so much that I decided to be nice and not post a link.

Obviously, Sam Stone hates you all.

Yes, I was totally addicted to this about six months ago. If you look around on the original Japanese site, there’s a version with little people. The wax is kind of strange and interesting too.

[sub]I just had to go and look at it again…[/sub]

M’kay. Do you know how/where to get it? All I get is a red X too, but I did recently remove my java programming.

And I just went back to java and downloaded their latest version…now I get a gray box instead of a red x.

Grey box here too

Do any of you have a java/javascript blocker in your browser?

Do you have to restart your computer after installing the Java Runtime Engine?

Here’s a site that has different versions
