Um…I never said the distinction between the two doesn’t matter. I said the distinction between the two doesn’t matter TO ME. To clarify, it doesn’t matter to me when I’m posting on a message board, due to the fact that I don’t take this kind of thing as seriously as you obviously feel it warrants. I don’t proof read what I write, don’t go through it with a fine toothed comb to tease out all the little grammar and syntax errors…mostly I don’t even bother to spell check unless I’m writing it on a PC that has FireFox on it (my iPod does a rudimentary spell check but often times it substitutes odd words in place of what I meant to write).
What you see as willful ignorance I regard as militant disinterest. That it bothers you is, of course, just a bonus.
Yeaaaah, you really are behaving like a dumbass. What’s up? I’ve noticed your posts in the past but never seen you being so aggressively stupid. What gives?
I mean, the bit about how XT is s “hypocrite” because he criticized The Gonz’ lack of intellect and poor behavior… but XT makes frequent typos. That’s just retarded. Hypocrisy requires one to be guilty of the same thing they accusing someone else of.
Then you pretended that the tangent you brought up, unasked, meant XT had violated Gaudere’s law.
Then when pointed out it didn’t, at all, you seize upon a phrase where XT says that some grammatical foibles don’t matter to him and pretend that means he said they don’t matter period. And you use your silly mistake to call me a dumbass?
Seriously, what gives? If you have something personal with XT you can at least address that directly. You’re just making yourself look absurd with this song and dance though.
Is this to him distinction supposed to mean something? Of course it’s “to him”. Yes, his disinterest in understanding the difference between simple words is the point. His own personal disinterest - his stupidity.
Actually, I don’t. Outside of politics, I’m quite sure I’d like him, and even within the sphere of politics, he’s hardly the most egregious offender. In fact, he’s relatively harmless as GD goes, largely for the same reason that I think gonzomax is.
I actually expected XT to man up and apologize for his childish remarks and wrong stances. When he argued endlessly that speculators had no impact on oil prices , i was shocked at his ignorance. I figured as more and more authorities recognized it in public he would apologize. He would be able to admit he was wrong and showed very bad manners.
Then when he jumped on the TARP bandwagon and fought for Paulson and the bailout, he was at it again. I expected him to start a thread admitting he was wrong again and his insufferable attitude was a mistake. I am still waiting.
Yeah, that was kind of crazy, but it doesn’t beat a defense of the use of the word “faggy” that basically consisted of “But just look at these dogs! How can you say they don’t look faggy?!”
Again, you are being rather stupid.
Slow down and try to think for a moment before you type.
Now, your claim was that XT said there wasn’t a difference between homophones when even someone of fairly basic intellect would have detected the caveat that he simply said he didn’t care, not that there was not a difference.
For instance, I do not care what the difference is between industrial grade diamonds and De Beers diamonds. I’m not going to buy either any time soon, and could not care less. Now, only a mouthbreathing fool would take that to mean that I’d said no difference exists.
Are you beginning to see why you are embarrassing yourself, to not only say something so stupid, but then to use such stupidity to call others dumb?
That really is The Gonz’ MO, he aggressively misses the point by miles and then calls those who get it, stupid. He is a self caricature, an auto-parody. Are you gunning for the same behavior pattern? Saying really stupid things in order to pretend that other people are “dumb asses” makes you look like a Gonz clone.
And speaking of which, this “gang bang” is due to The Gonz’ relentless, shameless, unchanging, behavior. Something tells me that despite your silly denial, you understand why that is and why it’s justified.
One final note, XT not caring about grammar may be many things, but stupid it is not. Calling it stupid reveals that you have as much understanding of what that word means as what Gaudere’s Law means (a mistake you still haven’t retracted). Stop being stupid.
This coming from a guy who had a mod close his thread (and repeatedly call him stupid) because…well, here, let me just quote Giraffe:
My emphasis. This was a thread that went on for 5 pages (and was closed by a mod because of your shear stupidity and intransigence)…5 pages of pain by just about every single poster trying to beat what is a very simple concept through your thick skull. You could practically cut the frustration of all the other posters in the thread with a knife.
Well, but the thing is, I’ve repeatedly told you that you don’t have a clue what my position is and you continue to build this strawman. I’ve given up trying to explain it to you. Reasonable people can disagree about things and debate them…but unfortunately you are simply to stupid to understand just what my actual position is on this. And yet, you keep bringing it up. It’s the ‘faggy’ thread all over again.
You’d have to actually be able to grasp what my position is in order to hunt for authorities in order to dispel or disprove it…but you don’t understand it, so instead you resort to drive by links that you ALSO clearly don’t understand and that may or may not even touch on the subject being debated…and often times contradict your own stated position.
I have bad manners…and I’ve admitted when I was wrong in the past. I believe even Hentor, not exactly one of my great fans, will attest to this. At least if he’s being honest.
Again, you didn’t/don’t have the wit to actually understand my actual position on this subject and are simply creating strawmen. It’s your standard modus operendi, and if I didn’t think you were as stupid as you obviously are I’d think you were trolling me. But, you ARE that stupid.
I’ll be happy to start an apology thread just as soon as you show me something I need to apologize for…and just as soon as you apologize for torturing all of those poor 'dopers in the ‘faggy’ thread, and your wonderful mortgage thread, and the 20/20 thread and…well, hell…let’s just say you apologize for ever getting an account and posting on this board, ehe? You do that and point out what I need to apologize for and I’ll be more than happy to comply. Deal?
I have decided to ignore all of gonzomax’s other failings and focus really hard on this comma thing, as I think there is an actual possibility of achieving results in this area.
Look, here’s the deal. A comma is followed by a space. It is not preceded by a space.
RIGHT: Look, here’s the deal.
WRONG: Look , here’s the deal.
ALSO WRONG: Look ,here’s the deal.
TOTALLY WRONG: Look,here’s the deal.
Word, comma, space, word. I know you can get this, gonzo. I have faith in you.
If you people actually read threads ,you would see I have zero bigotry against gays and defend them over and over. I have no gay bigotry. So blow the poodle hair cuts out your XT.
“Stop behaving like a gay man would, all effeminate and wimpy, mincing/prancing around and , you know, just like a faggot. Not that I’m a bigot or anything…”
For the record, The Gonz really is stupid enough that he just talks exactly like a bigot while his damaged-brain is unable to comprehend that using bigoted slurs against gay people makes him look like a bigot as well talk like one.
But he’s not our favorite special needs poster for nuthin’.
The elder generation of Texans that raised me were almost universally bigots. They wouldn’t deny the fact of their bigotry, but they might well deny the word itself. They would claim it wasn’t “bigotry” to assume that black people were inferior, since it was a fact that they were inferior. If accused of bigotry, they might deny it on the grounds that it was a *justifiable * view, but not that they didn’t hold such a view.
Lyndon Johnson would serve as an excellent example: he recognized in himself that his racism ran deep, that he had attitudes he couldn’t entirely expunge. But he also believed that those attitudes were wrong, and devoted himself to the premise of equal rights, which is to say he chose his beliefs over his feelings. I find such a choice admirable, and would not call it “bigotry”. YMMV.
