Ugh! Math.
So…update:
Of course the Siamese kittens were adorable. Granddaughter wanted one NOW! They were all spoken for and deposits paid.
The Breeder has a pregnant cat, due in 10 days or so. They put a deposit on a male kitten. Just one. I’m concerned about that. Siamese do better in pairs. Not that mine do. But, so they say.
Got a text from Granddaughter on her iPhone: “Nana is best”
:D.
Oh, yes. Steve I bought my lottery ticket. Fingers crossed!
Big, update.
Grand-kitty was born yesterday with no complications. I was surprised to find out my Cats have the same parentage. So are they siblings or cousins or Whatever?
Granddaughter is flipped the eff out. It will come with an animal-other-than-cat type name. But, of course, since I’m the cool Nana she wants to name it after my Cat. I told her not to do that. Since I may end up with it (oops).
I’m personally hoping for Mouse or Fish.
She has to wait 5 weeks to get it. Son-of-a-wrek said “good!” He’s gotta scrape up the rest of the price. I’m waiting on the big hit-up for me to fork it over. It’s coming.
Yay! Grand-kitty!!
Wait a minute.
The breeder is going to let them take a 5 week old kitten?
Too soon! and I am now pretty dubious about the breeder.
Mouse or fish? Bah!
Lion, or Jaguar, or Puma, or Panther, or even Leopard. Leo, for short!

No. She will get to visit at that time. The breeder decides when they go. I got mine at 7weeks. I was considered an experienced cat person. They will not be. She may keep the baby longer.
At the risk of y’all thinking I’m certifiable, well I am kinda crazy. My cats came and sat by me on the arms of the chair. One on each side. I started talking to them, they seem to enjoy that. Bear was fwipping his tail. Meeko was chewing a toe nail. I got to my talk-to-the-baby voice and was telling them about the "adorable widdle kitty that was just borned’ and “weren’t they excited that they might get to meet him” Bear said “meow” that sounded just like “no”, no surprise there. He often does that. Meeko made a sound I’ve never heard from a cat, it was a deep hiss. It sounded just like she said “shit”. I swear to god. I was so shocked. I just sat there thinking. This can’t really be. Cats can’t speak. They’ve heard me countless times using those words, directed at them. Maybe they are learning words. Am I losing my mind?
Can’t wait to tell granddaughter the Siamese have a new trick.
After I get let out the funny farm, I’ll post what new words they’ve learned.
Please be careful. Remember, all DIL has to do is just miss a call one time. . .
Here’s an idea she may support (DO check with her first!). Tell Granddaughter that you will teach her how to care for a kitten, then put her in charge of your litter boxes for a month. At the end of the month if she has been faithful and true to this chore Mommy may reconsider.
Granddaughter is for sure, a pet person. She doesn’t have a problem poopy scooping the back yard for the little dog they have. He’s a crazy dog, so there’s always a mess associated with him. She won’t have a problem taking care of the kitten. I think the problem is gonna be the inability to leave the kitten be for her and her younger sister. When they are at my house they try like crazy to get my cats down to play. We all know that’s not how cats work. I spent some amount of time explaining this to them. It’s sinking in to the oldest. Especially as my male Bear has taken a fancy to her. The baby girl is gonna be a problem, I’m afraid. We’ll see.
Bump-date:
The Wrek, Jr’s went and visited the new baby kitten, this past weekend. And as expected it was adorable and the ‘sweetist’ kitten EVER. I know the breeder, she always pre-names her babies. This one has a long pedigree name no one seemed to remember but it has ‘Koko’ in it, so naturally his call name will be ‘Monkey’. Ummm? What?
Granddaughter is very, VERY excited. Younger sister is not happy with the situation. She told me ‘cats are not nice and they scratch you’
I asked her did she want a kitten of her own, before she could answer Mom interjected, “NO!”
Looks like Nana may have to spend some extra time with baby Granddaughter. Seems she needs a lesson or 2, in how to get what you want.
Sounds like she needs a dog.
^^They have a dachshund. But, she’s a simple child, a new Barbie doll would probably make her happy.
To me, the older Granddaughter is more fun. I can get her to say anything and She gets my little jokes. I told you I’m a bad, bad, bad Nana.
