I think we need more Pit threads about Trump, not fewer. Inspired by you I was ready to bump my thread of poetry to lament America’s condition. But I saw that thread was in MPSIMS, not The Pit. And it’s hard to speak frankly about Trump — or any Republican — without using Pit-worthy diction.
This is the “poem” I threw together just now: Some say U.S. will end in fire
Some say Trump.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire
But if we must be raped by Chump
A lot of racist clods will jump
To watch him dump

Yeah, this “poem” makes almost no sense. Please post better efforts and inspire us!
I am able to avoid clicking on the OP’s numerous, cutesy threads. It is obvious that she is in a race to win the “most threads posted” in the shortest amount of time award. And she has plenty of free time to do it.
But, on the other hand, she is harmless, and means no ill to anyone. Which are good qualities. Plus she is a dues paying member.

Funny thing Beck, I used to read your threads. I thought they were funny stories. I love the stream-of consciousness thing. After some time, there came a day or days, when all your threads were half of the view page in MPS. I don’t care who bumped them all, you or others, but it was annoying.
If you don’t like a blog, which is exactly designed for these kinds of stories, what is wrong with one big, a day in the life of Beckdawrek thread in MPS? Your fandom, and others, who want to read your stories, can “view first unread” and keep up with ongoing saga. It will probably stay at the top of the first page. If you want to talk about something other than yourself, then start other threads.

3rd degree? Really? I’m not a great proponent of the death penalty, but I don’t oppose it either. For those we give power over us, I reserve a higher standard of conduct for with stiffer penalties for violating that standard. This was murder, not manslaughter, not negligent homicide, not an accident. Those men were police officers, not regular people. Those were people we said, “here, take this symbol of authority, and this weapon of enforcement, and go forth to keep us civil and protect us, we willingly give you this power”
That man, those officers who aided him, deserve no less than permanent separation from our society, by the termination of their own lives woukd not be unwarranted.

I say it here as a way to explain one reason why I could never really march and protest.
Oh, please. Anyone can post in those threads. I have once or twice, but that’s it. If I see something that interests me, I’ll do it again. Or not. That you choose to feel like an outsider is just that: your choice. Then you make the choice to be pissed off about some imagined slight. Grow up.
I also fail to see what’s wrong with the original intent of the thread. I read and watch what’s going on with horror, probably like most people here. We have a pandemic, police killing black people, arresting reporters and brutalizing citizens, a president who supports it all, and much more. It’s some privilege right there to bitch about a thread on a message board.
But you can. This is the Pit. Criticizing is what we do here. Just because the comment is appropriate to the forum doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to the thread. I’ve seen that happen many times.
There are a lot of people bringing up a separate grievance that has nothing to do with Beck’s pit thread. And, frankly, that grievance is asinine. Beck is perfectly nice, and her morals are good. There is thus no reason to get angry at her.
The only reason to be annoyed by her MPSIMS threads is that you clicked on them. They don’t normally take up “half the forum” and are well labeled so you can skip them. Ever since someone complained that the titles weren’t descriptive enough, she’s made sure to be more descriptive. And she obviously is not trying to post as much as possible–she could do a hell of a lot more if that were the case.
The legitimate criticism I see in this thread is that, due to her style, her Pit thread comes off as belittling the actual protests. I can see why that would bother people. I don’t think that was her intent–it’s just who she is–but I get why that would bug people.
But hating on her for her MPSIMS threads is silly. It’s not like there’s anything bad in them.
They’re as easy to avoid as the more pointless Thread Games threads.
Beck, I think the issue here is that your threads belong in MPSIMS. They’re about your feelings, and I click on them when I want to see what you’re doing today, and what funny thing happened to you today, and how you’re feeling today… perfectly mundane and pointless stuff you need to share.
But in other forums, people expect a higher content to words ratio.
Most of the posts in this thread are yours, and most of them are about how you’re feeling… about racism, about the forums, about how people are treating you. You need to add something to people’s understanding of the issues, not just emote.
By the way, I love the idea of one big* Beck’s Diary* thread in MPSIMS. I’d read it, and even your original post in this thread could go in there: “THIS is what I’m dealing with today, it’s bad bad bad and I’m pissed!”
