She blasted onto the board with a clear agenda: to be the center of attention and cultivate a following. She commented on nearly every thread, whether she had anything useful to say (rarely) or not. Then the bad, bad, bad threads started, which should be a bad, bad, bad blog, or at the very least, one omnibus thread.
She and her minions act like they’re in a Yahoo chat room, circa 1999, with the cutesy nicknames, groupspeak and forced, painfully dorky sense of community.
I do my best to ignore and avoid these days, but I’m with the other posters who felt that this self-centered, tone deaf, inappropriate Pit post was a step too far. Perhaps she realizes that now, perhaps not. The revolving “protest” signature lines and her responses in this thread lead me to believe she has not.
Just remember Herr Doktor…No one pitted Beck. She came here of her own free will against her better judgement mind you, but that didn’t stop her, did it. I learned pretty early on that any thread by this poster was going to be boring, BORING and a complete and utter waste of time. Luckily, the threads are clearly labelled and can be avoided with ease. This is the first one I have ventured into for a good long while, and only because I wanted to see reactions of others.
If I want to be bored, I will watch paint dry or grass grow. There is no need to ever click on any of this person’s threads.

I said that could be “better” determined “by the number of posts one has in a few years time” along with other things I followed with. Do you see the difference between that and claiming that I said that me saying something counts as evidence? Because that didn’t happen.

I’m not crazy about this board being used as a blog space. It feels kind of lazy to me, kind of a way to capture an audience for stuff that wouldn’t get an audience if the author had to develop a following using more traditional methods.
But it’s easy enough to ignore, and a rule against using the board as a daily blog would feel like a bill of attainder about now. Maybe TPTB could add a forum called the Blog Space or something. It might inspire more people to play and if someone wasn’t interested, they could avoid the forum, sort of like I do with The Game Room.
OTOH, as someone that’s been SDMBing for a long time, it’s kind of in the spirit of MPSIMS.
Because I remember how it started. One poster on the original AOL board ( a high school aged girl, IIRC) was continually starting threads about her day to day life. This annoyed another poster who edited one of the thread titles to Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share. The phrase stuck around, obviously - so in a way all these bad bad bad threads are truly in the spirit of MPSIMS. But that’s not necessarily a good thing. They are easy enough to ignore, though and the ongoing theme in the thread titles keeps me from accidentally clicking on them.
His posting history may be a mixed bag, but I think you’ve been whooshed. His, “Beck Lives Matter”, was spot on in the context of the OP. It wasn’t meant to demean BLM as much as to poke fun of the self-importance of OP’s “I Protest!”. At least that was my take.

I am a fairly new poster (mostly reader) here and made the mistake of reading a few of her cloying look-at-me threads…and now the very sight of their titles in the thread list makes my stomach turn. I’ve been around the 'net long enough to spot a narcissistic message board addict. And I also know that she does it to fill a mile wide hole in her soul. Hmmm, perhaps all is not as chirpy and Pleasantville as she would like her low EQ fandom to believe.
And now she has the unmitigated gall to take the most heartbreaking social crisis in decades and turn it into her mirror.
