BEEF! It's what's for dinner. What's the music?

Opps, forgot to add…

Not to say that they haven’t also used other music in their advertising. Just that Hoe Down has been in heavy rotation consistantly for quite a long time.

I thought this was a joke but Google says it’s actually true… what’s up with this?

Furthermore, remember that Sylvester Stallone movie Copland? That was loosely based on the life of Aaron Copland, specifically the years when he and Clara Peller formed the The Cattlemen’s Beef Board.

With regards to cattle, I think there is some serious bullshitting going on in this thread.

All I know is it makes me long for the early days of “Dallas.”

(Yes, I know it’s not the same song, but it definately has that feel.)

In light of Mad Cow, was it wise for Copland to use a Shaker tune for a beef commercial?

Fact… every time we sit Aaron ( ) down to eat beef we play that song for him. We even call it the “Beef Song”.

They should have gotton Jerry Lee Lewis to do it.

Well I said come on over baby
We got kickin’ in the barn
oooh huh.
Come over baby baby
Baby got the bull by the horn
We ain’t fakin’ it
Whole lot of shakin’ goin’ on…

No, no, no, no no!

Beef’s song is “Life At Last.” Jeez, haven’t any of you seen Depalma’s Phantom of the Paradise?

Starring Gerritt Graham as Beef, the androgynous glitter/glam singer who gets offed by a prop neon lightning bolt halfway through the song.
