Beer rating #1000!

Just posted my 1000 rating on RateBeer.com. That sounds like a lot but there folks on there with tens of thousands!:cool:

Many of my ratings are just so much fluff. But what it’s good for is a diary of beer I’ve already had. That way if I’m out somewhere and see a beer on the menu I can look it up to see if I’ve had it already and if I liked it.

My 1000th was particular in bringing back memories. I used to drink Andeker in the 70’s. My Dad even bought us half barrels of it for my high school graduation party in 1979. (Don’t get excited. The drinking age was 18 back then.)

It’s not bad for a regular lager. As long as they keep the price down if they bottle it.

That’s quite an impressive rating record!

I see you haven’t rated my favorites, Mammoth’s IPA 395 and La Cumbre’s Elevated IPA. Not surprising, considering they have rather limited distribution. Keep your eye out though–I recommend them highly.

Not yet. I notice one is in California. No plans to go there until possibly next December when we have a tentative trip to Australia planned.

You’ll notice many of my ratings are for beers with limited distribution, or wouldn’t be imported here. My wife and I travel a lot (been to all 50 states and over 20 countries). So I’ve been able to try some obscure ones. But there is only so much a guy can drink on one trip. Surprisingly when we went to Ireland last year I liked very few of the beers there. I was stunned at that.

Also, I never try one that I already know I won’t like (usually because of the style.). That simply isn’t fair to the brewer.

Well done taking the time to actually write that many reviews! I don’t use ratebeer, I use the Untappd mobile app for beer tracking. I currently have 2336 unique check-ins. I don’t bother with reviews, it’s just a tick-list for me.
