Being a guest on late night TV for the MMP

Shoe if you ignore the fact that there’s turkey on it, my sammich for N.O.L. is also completely vegan. Look at us goin’ all vegan!

I wish I had some turkey now. I like it.

I am ----- slightly confused? — at irk. I put in for a change from Saturday to Wednesday to Monday to Friday. That was accepted – which is good. But for some reason the Big Giant Head of HR somewhere in Kentucky or somewhere says I have to work today (I was off yesterday) and then not work this weekend to get on the new schedule. Since pay runs Friday to Friday, if I didn’t work today it would cause a rip in the space-time fabric and create a worm hole or something. So I’m changing from “this is my Sunday” clothes to “throw those boxes at me” clothes. I’m OK with all that – more pay – but slightly bewildered.

Happy Firday!

It’s 3 degrees above freezing today and that is a good thing. Not as good as 40 degrees above freezing but better than below freezing.

Sometime today after my am irk shift I have to go for pre-op testing.
Also I have some packages that should be delivered today, finally I have curtains. The new foam for the couch cushions should be delivered today as well.
Ordering a sheet of foam and cutting it myself is saving me about $120.

I just heard what sounds like a box being dropped on the porch!

Sorry about the mailbox FCM

Feeling bummed. Again. Over issues I haven’t yet sorted out with a friend, but I don’t want to bother him, and… well… it’s complicated.

And it’s always cold in this house because the heating doesn’t work properly and we don’t have money to fix anything. People who say they actually like cold weather can suck it. I’d force them to live in my house and see how they like it.

I wonder if I should go and open a fizzy water club soda can. Maybe if I collect enough cans I can take them back to the store and get enough money for a coffee.

Back from my eye exam. It was quite an experience - I think the young guy who was working the front desk was sorta flirting with me. He said I was his favorite patient ever, but then who could blame him?? My new specs should be ready in a couple of weeks, so yay!

Oh, and the mailbox was still standing, so yay there, too!

As soon as I’m done with lunch, I’m going to clean the pellet stove and get it fired up again. Then I need to empty the dishwasher. Then I’m going to work on the crocheted conversation hearts that I hope to sell at the store for Valentine’s day.

That should fill my afternoon.

Howdy from da cave! Yes, da cave. I am irkin’ still, just from the comforts of cave. I have a webinar (I hates that word I does!) this afternoon from two until four. If’n I gotta deal with that, I’d just as soon deal with in sweatpants and sweatshirt all comfy like than sittin’ in an orifice. Thus here I sits.

MOOOOOOM crocheted conversation hearts don’t sound very crunchy. What do they taste like?

They taste sweet. :stuck_out_tongue:

REd and pink lint. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just finished cleaning the pellet stove - what a messy job! We’re going to have it cleaned professionally when the heating season is over. For now, I do the best I can.

Break for a bit, then I need to empty the dishwasher.

Iffn you really wanna flatter then that should be, " How ya doin’, beautiful? :smack:

Why doth I think a certain ursine will be multi-tasking, possibly with laundry, dinner prep, &/or bill paying during said webinar? :dubious:
Time to think about lunch.

**FCD **came home early. He’s napping at the moment, having declared my mailbox repair to be satisfactory. The dishwasher has been emptied and the cat box has been scooped. Go me!!

Feeling a whole bunch of bad things at once.

I hope tonight’s rehearsal will cheer me up, but I don’t know.

I wish I knew how to use a time machine.

I also wish I knew how to more effectively tame embroidery software. We’ve been doing some back and forth with trying to convert a JPG to embroidery. It’s taken extensive photoshop twiddling on the image to get a recognizeable embroidery, but at some point, I’ll just have to stop pushing pixels and start manual “punching” of threads.

I’m all cleaned up and ready to go. Just have to get my ass in gear and do it.
Curtains have been hung, I’m not thrilled with them but they were cheap and will do until I find something I like. At least now I don’t feel like I am living in a fish bowl when I lift the shades.

I’m glad I ordered medium density foam instead of the high density foam I was going to order originally. I won’t be sinking into the frame with this stuff, it’s pretty damn hard.

Mooom, could a baseball bat striking the mailbox pole have dropped it?

{{{Emily}}}

spidey and doggio, you both sure know how to talk to a woman. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like I’ll be at irk all day today. I spent the morning helping a bunch of engineers get their inventory straightened out and get to write up the reports this afternoon. C’est le guerre!

**red **- considering the post extended at least a foot below ground and there was a small garden around it, I seriously doubt it. Plus there are no discernible marks on the mailbox, altho it’s plastic, so it doesn’t mark as easily as metal. I’m inclined to think it was someone making a WID*E left turn in the dark, possibly under the influence. It wouldn’t have required a lot of speed and from the looks of the hole it went over sideways rather than front to back.

Just heard from my daughter. She needs a root canal. She obviously inherited her dad’s teeth. But she has good dental insurance, so that’s something.

Spidey I’ll have you know I’ve been payin’ attention. Except for now. Well, I AM payin’ attention but also goofin’ off.

This is booooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnn’

It’s over! I hereby declare it the weekend! A three day one even!!! YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Dindin shall be ham 'n bean soup and cornbread. 'Tis chilly out so it’s a soup 'n cornbread kinda day. YUM!

Yeah, sure, play the innocent. :dubious:

I just made us reservations on a cruise to Bermuda leaving Baltimore on Sep 11 and returning Sep 17. We’ll have an afternoon and evening, then a full day, then a morning on the island. With luck, we can see some things this time. Last time we went with the inlaws and we hardly saw anything. So yay!

Anyone wanna cruise with us? Plenty of cabins still available.

Guess I should think about making something for supper. Even tho I don’t feel like it. Something about starting the day with a post hole digger just sapped all my motivation…
