Being a guest on late night TV for the MMP

Howdy from large and in charge beautiful downtown Ft. Gaines, Jawja! Bet none of y’all have been greeted from Ft. Gaines. This here tablet thingy is a cool gadget. I’m sittin’ here munchin’ on a pretty good grilled ham 'n cheese sammich with chips at a little restaurant and it has wifi!

BBBobbio sucks about the insomnia etc but yay for milk and cookies!

Reckon I better finish up N.O.L. so’s I can hit the road and travel on to that metropolis known as Arlington, Jawja and then back to the orifice. Envy my life of exotic travel!

It’s hard to take a news story about a beetle invasion seriously when the amusing-sounding phrase “beetle battle” is used in the article title. It sounds like a kids’ game or something.

Still so much to do today that I haven’t done. Must get to it.

Now I know why my eyes are burning and my nose is running.
The new moisturizer I bought.

I’m going to have to ask my niece if she is still selling the sweet minerals makeup line, their moisturizer never bothered me. It’s expensive but worth it if I don’t react to it.

I haven’t heard from the doctor yet about when my next procedure is going to be, I guess I should call and see what is up
This getting old ain’t for sissies.

I have cuts on one of my fingers. :frowning: I’m sad. I need my fingerdingers to play my instruments.

It could be worse. If your nose was running and your feet smelled, you’d be upside down.

Blurfy developments chez -99 today. I had been told yesterday by the service adviser at Carmax that my car should be ready by lunch. kaylasmom has a doctor appointment at 3:15; this should allow me to return the rental, pick up my own car, and make the appointment.

So I call the service department at around 10 a.m., just to make sure I can pick up the car at close to noon. We-e-e-el-l-ll it’s not that simple they tell me. The ETA on the parts for the seat is now set at “around” lunch time. Now, the service adviser is certain that it will be ready this afternoon, and he will call me at 1:35 p.m. to give me a firm pick-up time.

This does not make me happy. So, just on a flyer, I called the doctor’s office to see if they could possible reschedule us for tomorrow (I fully expected to be shot down amid gales of laughter on that request, but I was prepared to make the appointment today if necessary). Mirabile dictu, they’re able to reschedule for 3:45 tomorrow! Ya-a-a-a-ay! is what I say on the inside of my head, and I make the change.

1:35 arrives, and with it, the promised call from the Repair Department at Carmax. The dealer sent over the wrong part (a motorized seat mount assembly), and it won’t fit into my car. New part ordered, an extra day of car rental authorized, pick-up time for my vehicle tentatively set for 5 p.m. tomorrow. :smack:

:smack::smack::smack:

Not going to jerk the doctor’s office around any more. If that’s what it takes, I’ll bring kaylasmom to her appointment on schedule, dragoon Michaela into staying with her, and head over to Buena Park to TCoB with the car.

I’m only making payments for another three years, I’m only making payments for another three years, I’m only making payments for another three years…

Does Judge Judy count as a late night talk show?

As suspected, the second wife is behind pretending I don’t exist.

I don’t have a clue why, but her whim is able to over-ride reality. Just not allowing me to be listed on the obit doesn’t make me vanish.

**gotti **- I wasn’t listed in my dad’s obit, either. Not that we were estranged - since I am the only one of the sibs who doesn’t live around Baltimore (I was in Florida when he died) I was just forgotten. That’s happened a lot since I left home 40-ish years ago …

Supper was OK. The steak was way too fatty and gristly. ick. You can’t win 'em all.

We’re in for a nasty night and morning. It’s supposed to rain overnight, and it’s already below freezing. Snow showers in the morning. Not a good day to commute. Glad I don’t have to. Worried that my sweetie does. I’m not worried about his driving - he learned to drive in Michigan. No, I worry about some of the idiot locals.

Ew, I hate fatty meat. It’s one of the reasons I don’t eat pork anymore - that, and it got stuck in my teeth too much.

I do like crispy bacon though.

Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) cycling cube aquarium had a low water level, so I used the refractometer to check if I needed to add RO or saltwater. (1.024 for those of you who are interested.) She began giggling. “WHAT?” “Oh, just a vision of something I had.” I put the refractometer back to my eye, and yelled, “AARRRRRRRR! There be WOMEN aboard!” She giggled for fifteen minutes. I didn’t think it was* that *funny.

Run that by again?

If we get that weather down here, and we have to commute in it, I’m going to hate you even more than I do now.
:dubious:

Almost forgot to turn this off. MWAH!

Yesterday I started taking two online classes for the next six weeks and I’ve already finished all my homework for the first week!

I’ve also got to give a shout out to Kinekt who make the awesome gear ring which I gave to RT for Christmas. He fell at work today (he’s ok) and squashed the ring so that the gears kind of stick. I emailed them about repairing the ring and they said that they’d repair or replace it for free, all I needed to do is pay for shipping!

I want one (& I don’t even wear rings)

Well, DH is thrilled about how well my attempt to clone a Taco Bell Crunchwrap Slider went.

I survived work, hockey was good, no awful weather as of yet.

gotti, sound like something Stalin would do.

Sorry about the finger, midget.

yay for ring fixing, sticky!

Sorry about the car FUBAR, Dad.

Spidey, it goes:
Lone Ranger: “we’re surrounded by hostile Indians, I think we’re in trouble, Tonto.”
Tonto: “What do you mean ‘we’, pale face?” "

In my experience, second wives often have that power and use/abuse it often.

Good vibes and hugs your way.

There’s this cold, nasty white stuff on the ground and I am not amused!!! And judging by the sounds I heard when I let the dog out, the white stuff is falling with some harder frozen stuff. Here’s hoping **FCD **can avoid idiots on the road this morning.

Lots of critter drama last night. Apart from the usual attempts between Taz and Higgs to get the best space on my footrest, Ziva joined in later in the evening. While Higgs was snuggled in FCD’s afghan and Taz was off somewhere, Ziva joined me on the recliner, and after skritches, she settled down next to me. Higgs wanted to get to her, but I repelled the pug attack. Taz came over a couple of times and tried to bite Ziva on the neck - I shooed him away also.

Then Taz decided to attack Higgs, but apparently with more venom than usual. I have never seen that pup so angry and so out for blood. It took my sweetie a while to calm her down - she wanted that cat. As he crated Higgs for the night, the cats went into our bedroom, but as soon as **FCD **came in, Ziva bolted out and down the hall. So he picked up Taz, tossed him out, and locked the door (Taz can open our bedroom door.) There were neither blood nor clumps of hair evident this morning, so it appears both cats chilled, at least until Taz tried to get in around 4:30.

I swear, it’s worse than kids!

It’s safe to say that today will probably not include going out. It’s supposed to stay below freezing all day and I’m not driving a truck in this mess. So we shall see what the day brings.

Happy Wednesday!!

I’d go on Craig Ferguson, as it was before it was no more, and I’d participate in a sketch for the cold open, and then I’d talk about where I’m from, New Zealand, a broad enough topic to take up most of the seven minutes. He would probably not compliment me on my shoes.

Meanwhile - I’ve had a good couple of weeks on a job, but this last week I’ve had to work from home and I keep making excuses not to do the work. I need discipline.
