Blurfy developments chez -99 today. I had been told yesterday by the service adviser at Carmax that my car should be ready by lunch. kaylasmom has a doctor appointment at 3:15; this should allow me to return the rental, pick up my own car, and make the appointment.
So I call the service department at around 10 a.m., just to make sure I can pick up the car at close to noon. We-e-e-el-l-ll it’s not that simple they tell me. The ETA on the parts for the seat is now set at “around” lunch time. Now, the service adviser is certain that it will be ready this afternoon, and he will call me at 1:35 p.m. to give me a firm pick-up time.
This does not make me happy. So, just on a flyer, I called the doctor’s office to see if they could possible reschedule us for tomorrow (I fully expected to be shot down amid gales of laughter on that request, but I was prepared to make the appointment today if necessary). Mirabile dictu, they’re able to reschedule for 3:45 tomorrow! Ya-a-a-a-ay! is what I say on the inside of my head, and I make the change.
1:35 arrives, and with it, the promised call from the Repair Department at Carmax. The dealer sent over the wrong part (a motorized seat mount assembly), and it won’t fit into my car. New part ordered, an extra day of car rental authorized, pick-up time for my vehicle tentatively set for 5 p.m. tomorrow. :smack:

Not going to jerk the doctor’s office around any more. If that’s what it takes, I’ll bring kaylasmom to her appointment on schedule, dragoon Michaela into staying with her, and head over to Buena Park to TCoB with the car.
