I’m glad to know that those cats finally sorted things out last night, FCM.
Happy Wednesday all, or hump day as Swampy continues to remind us. I’ve been around, reading and keeping up that way, just haven’t had much to say. I do have something to share, though, that gave me a little chuckle. My phone has voice mail, but it also will send me an email translation. The pharmacy always calls when my meds are ready, and they usually give their location, by street intersection. It’s Lomas and Juan Tabo, but the email gives it a different location - usually one tipple! Another time, it was Lomas and one tapple.
We had a light dusting of snow yesterday morning, but it was gone by mid-day. There might be more right now, but I haven’t looked out there yet. LOL Oh well, hope everyone has a decent day.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffenatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 55 and rain for the day. ICK! Still it beats snow and ice. Plus, no travelin’ today so yay for that.
I was AWOL last night. By the time I got back to the orifice late yestiddy afternoon and dealt with some stuff there, got to da cave, got dindin on the table and got the kitchen cleaned up, I was a tahrd bear. I chilled for a bit and had an early bedtime.
I read but didn’t retain much, so, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, how you doin’s as needed.
I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must also commence in short order.
Yeah, now that it’s light out, I can see our driveway is white. I’ll be out there with a shovel in a while. Thank goodness I found my boots. Last year, I had to wear my sneaks when we cleared the drive.
Winter sucks.
**FCD **called - he got to work safely, so yay for that!
Blurf. That just about sums up how I feel today. I still have the lingering cold and the cracked rib isn’t helping because I just seem to be coughing even more now. I wish it would go away and leave me alone so I can get on with the jobs at home that have been put off for ages because I have been feeling so crap.
At least we are halfway through the week…and the weekend would be in sight if that camel would move it’s lardy arse.
gotti, your dad’s obit is sucky, although I would not be at all surprised if my brother posted an obit for my mum when she finally goes, and completely ignores my existence. Families are weird like that, it is a lot of “out of sight, out of mind” with them.
I’m showered and more or less dressed to go shovel - lacking boots and proper outerwear, of course. However, from the looks of weather radar, there may still be a little more snow to fall, so I’ll wait a little longer. Alas, it’s not supposed to get above freezing and it’s staying overcast - no help from the sun today.
It was 1 degree whilst driving to irk. Above zero, at least. This weekend we may hit the 40s. That means every car wash will have lines for days. I’m going to Lake Geneva on Saturday for a bit of drinking, eating and spa-ing. I booked a Toasted Marshmallow Massage for Sunday morning (I’m assuming I will get pelted with marshmallows), and Saturday I am doing the rock climbing wall! Always wanted to try that. Hopefully I will not be like Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory and pass out mid-climb.
Well, that didn’t last long. I bundled up and grabbed my shovel. I managed to scrape the loose snow off about 1/3 of the driveway, when it started to sleet. Undoubtedly, the Weather Gods are telling me I should be inside, warm, and comfortable. Far be it from me to piss off the Weather Gods!
I couldn’t get down to the pavement anyway - the lowest layers are frozen and I’ll destroy the shovels if I try to scrape it all up. So I quit. It’s supposed to warm up in 2 days anyway.
Lets see ---- one … two. OK - you pass.
Still very cold here in Da Burgh but by Saturday it may just be more than warm enough for the Sportster - predictions are for 40. Today is Friday for me (unless HR knows something I don’t) and another 35% of the building opens today soooooo this is going to be a bonus hours day almost for sure.
The promised snow here turned into a sleety haily rain, nuttin’ much.
Went to a job fair in town for the day- not many stalls there, but I dunno, maybe something will come of it. I handed in a few CVs there, then went round the agencies again- I’ll go through the half tree of paperirk they gave me tonight. At least the agencies I talked to said it was busy right now, and were way more positive about my chances of getting something than last time.
It’s 43 degrees at 8:40 AM. I’m slow this morning and may not think of more to type. I’m not even going to pretend that what I got at Taco Bell on the way in to work is healthy.
Does anyone else read this thread backwards after the first read on Monday? Today I knew that FCM’s cats got it sorted before I knew what the problem was. Oddly, reading about sorting cats made me picture them doing laundry. I bet cats that did laundry would really sell.
I brushed white crap and scraped frost off the truck this morning. The surface streets I took to get to the freeway made me glad that I’d gotten a couple of bags of sand loaded into the bed last week. Once on the highway, it was pretty smooth sailing, just a bit slower.
Tonight I’ll bowl with the heathens. Here’s to knocking enough pins down to get out of buying the beer.
Howdy Y’all! Today has been a day of paperirk hell. It’s a good thing because it will mean new folks startin’ services, but it’s a whole lot of paperirk to deal with. The fun just keeps on comin’ cause [del]minions[/del] assistants and myself are on a push to enroll as many folks as possible by the end of March.
Oh well, it’s what I get paid for. I’d say it keeps me off the streets but actually it keeps me on the streets.
