Being a guest on late night TV for the MMP

Is it quit o’clock yet?

I don’t buy those cookies. They taste nothing like Girl Scouts.

doggio, that joke was older than I am. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m guessing the troops don’t see any of that $1.25…

I quite buying GS cookies eons ago when I found out the girls who sold them saw only a small fraction of the proceeds in their troops. And on top of that, the dollar store near me sells equivalents of thin mints and the peanut butter ones that aren’t bad at all. I can get the cookies I want and support the causes I want without someone making money on the labor of little girls.

Sun’s out, about 6 hours later than I needed it. Tomorrow’s supposed to be sunny - we shall see.

That joke was older than my grandmother, and she farts dust.

I didn’t buy any Girl Sprout cookies today; I had a nice container of TJ’s (Trader Joe’s) cat cookies in my bag that are now in my desk. But if I did buy some they woulda been Thin Mints.
Gawd, I feel like the Dos Equis guy: I don’t always buy Girl Sprout cookies, but when I do, I buy Thin Mints.
(BTW, I’m also very interesting!)
Shaddup, Flytrap!!!
I had a $10 coupon to Macy’s that expires Mon so I ran over there as they are close to irk. Got two not-quite-suit-dressy oxford shirts which cost me one niner six.
That’s right, two shirts for less than ½ a box of cookies!

Just looked at the GS website - it stated that *up to *75¢ per box sold goes to the troop. So it could be less. That’s max 18.75% going to the sellers. That just seems wrong. But, like I said, I don’t buy them anyway.

What does it mean, “cat cookies”?

TJ’s cat cookies

Funny - F-U-N-N-Y - funny.

(Ah, c’mon – some one had to)

Christ, people eat those?

Thanks for helping out, kopek. What a mensch!

What am I doing with my life? Besides staying up late at a folksinger’s house playing ukuleles and singing dirty songs. :stuck_out_tongue:
My life is amusingly bizarre sometimes.

Oh my yes! Tasty!

Mooom, that’s not a bad profit margin for sales. Heck, when I sold advertising solely on commission, I made about half that percentage on the small ads. The true purpose in this day and age, is teaching business. When I was a scout leader, part of the schtick (which I wish we would have done when I was a GS) was teaching the girls about such things as profit margins, sales and rewards.

It just seems wrong that a fund raiser profits so many others. When we did car washes in high school the profit for our labor was all ours. I know - apples and oranges, but I still think it stinks.

Howdy from da cave! We have ingested pizza. Yes I ordered pizza instead of cookin’. So what. I do have a pot of ham ‘n bean soup simmerin’ on the stove however for tomorrow. Anywho, we are settled in on a cool, drizzly evenin’. OYKW is stayin’ the night (YAY!) and is goin’ to have him a tub soak soon. He’ll be all clean to use as a blankey tonight.

What the heck do you know, aside from how to use a time machine?

Are they made from real cats?

OYKW is all bathed and clean. He is liein’ (layin’?) upon the bed surfin’ the teevee. Mayhaps I shall go and join him.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I don’t know if cats can be made into cookies, but one time I was giving a cookie to a friend, and he asked if there was pork in it. My dad said later that maybe my friend had meant lard. (there was neither pork nor lard in it.)

Time to watch WKRP and finish my afghan. Next project - crocheted Conversation Hearts for V-Day at the little store.

MWAH!
