Being a Yankee fan just isn't that much fun anymore...

No, I’m just saying that most of the money should go to those who made the car–in the case of the Yankees games, this would be the Yankees and their opponents.

Sure. And they should be fairly compensated for it. All I’m saying is that other teams should be fairly compensated as well.

I’m not talking about “revenue sharing.” That is bullshit and should be entirely abolished.

I’m talking about the proceeds of game depictions going to those who legitimately made the value. Including the Yankees.

Atlanta was the best team in the national league by a tremendous margin in the 90’s. It had nothing to do with the mets sucking. Hell, they weren’t even in the same division for all of the run.

You said without hope. That isn’t the same as not winning a pennant. If you win a hundred games in the regular season you probably got hope. Even if you want to go by pennants, and we ignore your blatent attempt at cherry picking, (3 pennents in 25 years is pretty good, no?), how many pennants exactly do the Cubs, Dodgers and Mets have in the recent or not so recent past.

I didn’t say every small market team was consistently competitive. It would make a pretty boring sport if everyone was always competitive. San Diego has had periodic success, which is as much as you could say about the Mets, Dodgers, and Cubs.

Well that is kind of how it works, just the percentages are different. The home team gets a bigger piece of the pot than the road, which it should, as they do more to get people to the ballpark. I also don’t think the Yankees would do appreciably worse in your system. They certainly draw better on the road than any other team.

I’ve tried, believe me. We’d even go out to Shea when Willie Randolph was the manager. I just couldn’t cotton to them, I don’t know why. Maybe because they don’t win enough. :stuck_out_tongue:

This, if you’re not facetious, is exactly why the Yankees and Yankee fans are hated. Even if you are being facetious, it is a commonly held if a bit exaggerated view of things. From 2001 through 2008, the Yankees finished in 1st place in the East in 6 of those 8 years and only missed the playoffs once. I’m so sorry they didn’t manage to win the World Series each year for you cry-baby fans.
