Being bad, bad, bad again!

If you fight the ticket and win, you’ve got a civil case against the Sooper Trooper.

Contact Judge Judy!

Judges don’t like notes. That’s along the lines of “Leave it to Beaver” when he called the police station and said, “This is a father speaking.” Some judges accept notarized statements. Your best bet is the receipt from the doctor’s office with the date, saying “Semi-feral cat scratch” and the bottle of antibiotics that has a label with your name and something along the lines of “take for feline scratch infection.”

That means major OW!

Yeah, I kinda thought the note thingy was stupid. But I felt it would an imposition to ask him to testify. As if my cat scratch case may go all the way to the SCOTUS or something. If it does my high powered attorney can supeona him. I wonder if the shelter peeps will offer testimony too? Book deal. Hallmark movie channel deal. Man, my prospects are looking up. Thank you foster cat. I may have to adopt you.

How much is this ticket? Maybe just pay it…

My understanding is it’s $60.00. No points off my record. I will probably just pay it
.
ETA, the little fiend is on my lap right now purring very loudly. He is a sweety.

IMHO, I’d go to court. There’s a good chance that the officer won’t show up, but the court system generally schedules it so all the officer’s cases/tickets are on the same day and it might be that some of those are VERY IMPORTANT to that particular officer. I also suspect that the officer gave you a low-grade ticket (not a moving violation) simply to emphasize that you should have done a better job of securing the cat when transporting it. He probably couldn’t care less if you get off.

Also, my experience has been that traffic court judges are pretty reasonable and, given any opportunity at all, will let you off if you clearly had a good reason for what you did. They get enough scumbags every day that they often jump at the opportunity to let John Q. Citizen off the hook.

Well, I’ve given the fiend a name. A big no-no in fostering. The name I picked is ‘Trooper’, obviously because he’s a trooper. He was nearly dead when he got to the shelter. But also because he got me a ticket from a State Trooper. Perfect.

“Trooper” is perfect!
