Ah, yes, the complete absence of any sense of humor is familiar. Somewhat off topic but it reminds me of the time that I worked for a VERY conservative, very hierarchical, bureaucratic image-conscious organization. Having little patience for corporate bullshit and being a big Dilbert fan, I had Dilbert cartoons plastered all over the inside AND the outside of my office, some of which I thought were directly relevant to some of the crap going on in the place. I don’t think your manager would have approved of my office decor. 
I’m glad other people noticed this. I feel like they banned me, and I wasn’t even a member!
I don’t belong to any other member boards, because I’m sure I’d get banned. Gawd there are idiots out there. also:

I was banned from a small, special interest board because the staff there thought I was a spammer. Took me about a week to get reinstated.
That board eventually got invaded by real spammers and the staff subsequently took it down.
Got one official warning here, for lashing out at an asshole who needed lashing. I don’t regret it. He’d been assholing all over a bunch of threads leading up to it. I knew when I was writing it that it was going to earn me an official warning, and decided before I hit Reply that it was worth it.
Lots of forums, I was also moderator and/or admin on a number. One of the most frequent posters on three of them.
All of them together, for 21 years, one infraction and no bans. I was handed an infraction on a forum I was an admin of, by an admin colleague. And he was right: I broke a rule unintentionally, but still. 
I’ve been warned here a few times, but never banned. I comment on news articles; that system will remove messages and hold others for moderation, but there are no warnings. I used to go to CustomersSuck, but it’s pretty much defunct now.
Years ago I got banned for speaking vaccination truth on CureZone (a board for diehard wooists/conspiracy theorists).
I don’t bother with forums run by and for thin-skinned dickheads any more.
I got banned from Disqus, I never did find out exactly why but my last comment was something like “Some people voted for Obama just because he was black.” I wasn’t saying that to disparage Obama or the voters, I was just postulating that he certainly would have gotten votes because of his race. But of course any time you mention “black” some people will cry racism.
On Reddit I got pre-emptively banned from /r/offmychest because I apparently posted a response to a /r/Imgoingtohellforthis comment that was upvoted high enough to be in /r/all. I didn’t realize I was posting to that subreddit and probably wouldn’t have cared, but my mere participating in /r/imgoingtohellforthis got me pre-emptively banned from /r/offmychest even though I had never posted there.
I got denied entry to a mailing list for siberian forest cat fanciers. They, too, had a really excessive list of questions that I didn’t answer completely.
Hmm, I guess I once got banned for spamming a board. They were right. I was in a group of people who thought it would be funny to go post on another board with a name that was humorous in light of the board we all posted on. (Long story.) I hadn’t posted anything terrible, but they banned anyone with cookies from the board I regularly hung out on. That was a long time ago, I probably wouldn’t participate in an “invasion” of another board now.
Other than that, hmm, I’ve occasionally gotten a note saying “that’s not allowed here”. I don’t think any of those have come with official mod warnings. Certainly not with bans. I try to respect the rules of the boards I post on (even the one I helped “invade”) but the rules vary wildly from site to site, and board to board, and I don’t always get it right.
Banned once from a “9-11 Truth” forum, a bunch of us on the JREF forum were debating a group of ‘truthers’ on the JREF, we found where they came from and mounted a counter-invasion. Lasted about 5-6 posts before getting booted–at that time, it was like a merit badge…
Haven’t earned a warning here, but did get a vigorous finger-wagging from a mod for a sin I readily admitted to (but now can’t remember).
I’ve gotten warnings on various boards for being vehement and/or rude. All deserved. Never banned except once which involved some people attacking me and the admin decided to ban all of us instead of trying to understand the fight. To be fair, I also quit at the same time.
I don’t think being an asshole on the internet is a badge of honor, anywhere.
Did you read the above posts or not? People get banned for dumb doubleplusungood shit all the time.
I managed never to get banned from TWoP, but the ridiculous and capricious overmoderation led to me reading and participating less and less.
Never been banned anywhere else, either. I don’t remember if I ever got a warning here.
