I think I’ve been banned from one I regularly use for using disguised swearing. It’s quite strict on swearing and when you’re having a little arguement with someone it’s easy to forget. Oh well, maybe I’ll be able to re-register with a different email address…

I was banned from a parenting one for swearing and being mean. I was kind of addicted to the place, but really disgusted by many of the other posters’ attitudes so I kept pushing my luck till I was banned.
Yeah they might have logged my IP address but I think I posted it at work. Used to have a floating IP pity it got made permanent.
I was banned from two related boards because the admin didn’t like me-but it was a pretty cliquish place. shrugs

I was banned from all of EZBoard about a year ago for various reasons. I then started using an older name and all’s been well since then.

Yup, got banned when I told the one of the “Powers that Be” on that board to put up or shut up in corroborating some wild claims he had been making.
A related question: How were you notified of your banning? Was it a formal e-mail or could you just not post one day?

Nope. But this is my first board. I’ve looked at others, but the people frequenting them seemed pathetic. This one has some substance.
I once got banned from the Fark comments once for pointing out that a certain person had a registered domain, and by doing a whois search you could get his phone number (I never printed it). I woke up the next morning and couldn’t load the comments page. It took me a few days to put two and two together, and thought it was pretty unfair.
I got banned from a vampire board once.
It was this silly site with a bunch of people who believed (or just said) they were real vampires. They were going on about how to “feed” off humans, how to live like a vampire, etc, etc. It was all very silly.
So I posted a few threads as a REAL vampire. I talked about how I go after drunks and bums because they fight less. How I have no problem feeding off children, the old or retarded people and so on. How I prefer to cut them in the arm and drink from there, and then beat the crap out of the body so no one catches on to the fact I’ve been feeding off the townsfolk.
You know, real but not very romantic vampire stuff.
They all said I was sick and twisted. I called them a bunch of wantabes,. then I was banned.
It was pretty funny.
Yep, I made a joke about one of the poster’s looking like a missionary in a picture: white shirt, dark suit, tie. The owner of the board chose to see it as a racial slur because the other guys in the picture were dark skinned. He signed on to my AIM and screamed at me. Despite my protestations and explanations he proceeded to revoke my posting privileges.
But he later apologized after many many people pointed out what an ass he was being.
I accidently banned myself once. That was pretty embarrassing. 
I was banned from a lousy poetry board because the board was spamming people on other boards, inviting them to their board. I went and asked what the deal was and was promptly banned.
Oh, the pain.

I got banned from a board based in Hawaii because I dared to ask questions about the magical abilities the board members claimed to have.
I was banned from Fark over an image I posted to a Photoshop thread titled Annoying roommate gets drunk and thinks he’s in the Middle East. Photoshop what would happen if he were really there. The subject of the original photo was a kid with a towel on his head getting out of the shower. :rolleyes:
I used the picture which was on the front page of that day’s Globe & Mail for my entry, which happened to be this one. I cropped out the gory parts at the right and bottom of the picture, and made a composite with towel-boy holding the girl.
This was considered too shocking of an image for Fark. I can see why a strict no-gruesome-stuff policy is sensible, and wouldn’t have blinked at its removal, but when I was posting it I considered it a lot less offensive than the plethora of “Let’s kick those farkin’ furriners asses” images, if inappropriately honest. It was a pissy reaction to a lot of mean-spirited stuff, and not a ‘fun’ thing at all, so I might have expected a stern warning from a mod. I was surprised at the irreversible ban, though. (I was paying for a subscription at the time, and regularly contributed pics to the PS threads that ranked pretty consistently well. I spent way too long on some of them.)
Anyway, the image that won the most approval for that contest turned out to be Aarkieboy’s pic of towel-boy having serial butt-sex with men praying in a mosque.
That really took the sting off leaving Fark behind in favour of less ignorantly-populated, freely-provided, non-saturated-with-annoying-blinky-banner-ad type places.
While I was going through my depressive peiod, I was banned from a board for constantly talking about depression and suicide, including lots of hijacking. I don’t blame them.
I’ve really pushed the limits on a (MUCH) smaller, stricter board, but not banned yet… (Orioles Board)
