Being the last poster of a thread and then it dies

I’ve decided this thread has a life of it’s own. We are beating a dead horse.

Well, it’s not gonna beat itself.

I got all day and a pack of gum.

If you want are talking about actual money you’re gonna need to talk to another branch of the military. Marine Corps improvises, overcomes and adapts. I was deployed with an Air Force unit once, those bastards had air conditioning units for their tents!

My FIL was a civilian auditor for the Dept. of Defense. As such, he got access to all the bases and amenities, specifically golf courses. I always like playing Air Force courses with him, 'cause they were always NICE. Golf courses on Army bases were obviously an afterthought, I think the AF built the golf course first then added a base.

^ Did you ever wonder why the 4th hole was 4-and-a-half feet across and a par 1/3? BOMBING RANGE!

We are not the smartest service because we DON’T have AC units!

Heh. I played many times at a course on an Army base course where one tee box was literally 25 yards directly behind the firing range. Standing over your ball while multiple M-16’s lay down continuous fire, with the thought in the back of your reptile brain screaming “What if one of those soldiers goes berserk and turns around 180 degrees?” makes it quite challenging to hit a good shot. Played a lot of second shots from the deep rough on that hole.

Don’t soldiers always fire like they are facing 180 degrees? If your goal is enemy dead you want Marines. One shot, one kill. Notice Veteran’s Day is after the Marine Corps birthday, that’s not a coincidence.

Semper Fi!

You guys and gals STILL trying to be the last one? Give it up already.

No.

Oh ok. Just checking.

Me either.

You asked with such good manners. I feel bad I was snipey with you. Please accept my apologies.

Rest In Peace.

I’m not dead!

In fact, I think I’m getting better!

It’s mind over matter ya know!

What’s “mind”?

It’s where you sit on request but without the treat afterwards.
