Guess Bill has no sense of humor! if he said it, it’d be alright, I guess?
He told them not to smack talk, and I haven’t known BB to be a talker himself. I think it’s kind of impressive that he has the balls to do something like this.
There’s a fine line between impressive and stupid. Bill strikes me (a MA resident and Pats fan) as someone who needs to prove he’s the smartes guy in the room, not to mention a control freak.
Both of those things are probably true, but they were true of Lomabrdi as well.
Oh, boy! He had the balls to bench him for not even a single series. He was out to receive the Jets’ first punt. That’s integrity we can all believe in.
Well, I guess it’s not the kind of integrity that starts a rapist at quarterback, but it’s something.
Was he charged? That’s what I thought.
Dude, you suck at this football thing. You back the wrong horse, every game is fixed, and you (as always) insist you’re right about everything. It’s amusingly tragic, like watching a crazy person descend further into madness. Yesterday’s lunacy about the Packers was comedy gold, and this must be some last lingering remnant of that psychosis.
You may consider a more productive hobby, one that you actually know something about. God only knows what that is, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out.
What happened to your bitching about being innocent until proven guilty? Oh, that only applies to your pets.
I’m paraphrasing, but in today’s paper the guy who writes the impressively sarcastic NFL previews in the* New York Times* wrote “If the NFL is the Improv Club, Rex Ryan is the comedian, Bill Belichik is the brick wall.”
P.S. When the number of threads on this board that contain the word “rape” hits 50% I’m fucking quitting.
Dio, you missed the opportunity to prove your consistency. You are supposed to be the “he’s innocent” guy. But this post proves what most of us know… you have the same integrity as Belichick. Whatever you are thinking at the moment is the correct thought.
Go read your “Favre is innocent” crap if you have forgotton your stance on innocent until proven guilty.
Favre was never even accused of anything.
you’re right of course. You are always right.
I know you are but what am I?
Technically, he’s right. While allegedly sending wang pictures to an uninterested adult female is gross, I can’t think of any criminal law I know that Favre could have been charged with.
So… Innocent until accused?
In the magical world of word parsing, notice that the word choice isn’t “charged”, it’s “accused”.
He was certainly accused of bad behavior. And the idea of innocence or guilt can be attached to an accusation. It may not be legally binding, but I believe the words are being used accurately.
So, he’s not technically right in this case. He was most definitely accused. Based on that, there was an investigation, which ended with a $50K fine. Was he charged with a crime? No. But that’s not relevant here.
That’s it for me. I’m not going to get sucked into another wording debate with Dio. It’s easier to just tell him he’s right and move on, or even better, to just move on. It’s my fault for pointing out the obvious in this thread, temporarily derailing it. With this post, I bow out of this discussion. If everyone would choose to skip over the nonsense, perhaps Dio’s antics would stop. Whether they do or not, they end for me here.

We now return to your regularly scheduled thread.
This old Jet fan thought Welker was pretty funny. Rex Ryan is one fat, goofy bastid that likes feet. How can you not joke on that? Belichik is a cheating, mean jerk who must be obeyed. It was a symbolic benching. Something a mean jerk would do.
Looks like Welker put his foot in his mouth and Belichick benched him for not toeing the line.*
*Said with an arched eyebrow.
