goes back in time, changes “Now, for one no one has mentioned,” to, “Now, one no one has mentioned,” hits submit
I just want to add about fifteen… no, make it twenty, votes for Firefly.
Another vote for My So Called Life.
I laughed, I cried and I still dance like Angela to Blister in the Sun in my bedroom on occasion.
I dunno, I think the ending of Nowhere Man set up a whole bunch of new questions that didn’t get answered…
Anyone remember Masquerade?
Rod Taylor, Kirstie Alley and Greg Evigan (no wait) as secret agents who recruited people from civillian life because too many agents had been spotted by enemy agents.
What I liked about this show was the way they would blend every day skills into an elaborate plan and since they never revealed the plan during the episode, you were never sure if things were going well or not.
Maybe it wasn’t as good as I remember, I think I also liked Automan about the same time.
More votes for It’s Your Move, Alien Nation and Police Squad!
The Weird Al Show. Weird Al Yankovic, I mean. I haven’t had a show. That you’ve heard of…
Also, can I cast a negative vote for Firefly? Unlike just about everybody else, I hated it.
…the Lone Gunman…
funny, cool, amazing and neat-with no hangovers from their time in the X-Files…
I always thought that the addition of Jimmy and Yves was a mistake, but they soon grew to become a couple of my favourite TV characters of all time…
I also pretend that their finale episode of the X-files never happened…
Oh, yeah. Lone Gunman coulda been great, shoulda been renewed.
Let me cast another negative vote on Firefly. Standard Western in space (yawn).
Space: Above and Beyond has had the episodes of its one and only season re-broadcast on the Sci-Fi Channel several times, but nothing was ever produced beyond the single season that Fox, in its infinite stupidity, would not renew due to in-house fighting and backstabbing.
who, me? bitter? just because our group fought for unavailing years to try and get it resurrected?
Strange Luck and Brimstone would get a vote for the big WHY??? sob WHYYYYY??? add American Gothic, and i think i’ve covered most of the shows that really appealed to me. seems like anything that takes viewer intelligence as a given is doomed to certain death by executive decision. (so how did they ever get airtime to begin with? my head is starting to hurt…)
John Doe. It did only go one season, right?
Vote for ‘Cupid’, vote for ‘Firefly’… And I’m kinda surprised I don’t see anyone mentioning ‘Remember WENN’ on this list… Or was I the only one who watched that?
No one had mentioned Quark(1978). “The misadventures of an outer space garbage collector and his crew.”
Freaks and Geeks was funny beyond words. If it really is coming out on DVD I’m gonna be first in line to buy it. One part of that show sticks out in my mind. The nerdy friend, I forgot his name, prank-called his coach because he thought the coach was being unfair. The convo went kind of like this:
ring ring
Coach: Hello?
nerdy friend: You are a turd, a stinky turd. You like to pat boys’ butts you butt-patter! Go sniff a jock strap you poop head!
click
Sheer brilliance.
Anyone else remember Brother’s Keeper? I think thats what it was called. Something about a younger brother was being raised by his 2 older brothers or something of the sorts. I miss that show.
Freaks and Geeks was one of my favorite shows. Even though they switched it on the schedule several times when it debuted, I managed to catch every episode. It’s cancellation depressed me. Then I found Andy Richter Controls the Universe and loved it. Cancelled again. Bleah…
As far as Frank’s Place goes, I also watched every episode and enjoyed it and, being from New Orleans, I have to say that it was one of the closest portrayals of life here.
I think it lasted for two seasons, but I can’t believe they cancelled A&E’s Nero Wolfe. It was stylish, funny, well written and perfectly cast. Too bad.
Did anyone else like Undeclared? Maybe I only liked it because it was a show about college life that came out at the same time I started college.
It’s worth noting that the only two people in this thread who disliked Firefly are Evil Death and Evil Captor. See a pattern there? That’s right, they’re both Evil. And you know why these two Evil people hate Firefly? Because Firefly is so damn Good!
It’s like vampires and crucifixes.
Your theory is somewhat dented by this being the only place I go by Evil Death. My joining SD predates my standardising of nick to Jedit, and I’ve never bothered opening a replacement account.
Firefly still stank, mind.
Except it didn’t, mind. No matter what you call yourself, you’re still wrong.
I don’t think Best of the West lasted a full season, but I do remember laughing hysterically every time it came on.
[singing]In days of yor, in western lore, a man returned from Civil War. His heart beat true, beneath his vest, his name was Best, Best of the wahwahwahwah [/singing]
