Best all-time SNL commercials

Annuale, for sure. I think I mentioned it in the other thread, but I just love how perfectly it captures the tone of those feminine hygiene commercials – the woman peering through a shelf filled with 11 white shoes and 1 pink one, etc.

And, also mentioned in the other thread and already mentioned in this one, but Chris Farley and the Colombian Crystals – my god, not only is this the funniest SNL fake commercial ever, but in my opinion it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on SNL, period. I laughed until I hurt. I still laugh every time I watch it. The end, with Farley bellowing in rage while his wife kneels at his feet weeping, is a thing of comic beauty.

Colombian Crystals skit.

So many.

Swill, bottled water from Lake Erie
Happy Fun Ball
The Navy Adventure: It’s not just a job it’s $96.78 per week.
Wilson Trap Doors: Perfect dropage every time.
Big Red

The first one I thought of was the Change Bank. There was a series with Roseanne Barr as a costumer service rep at a bank. The customer told about the great service he received and Roseanne bad-mouthed the guy.

Does anyone remember this?
P.S. The linked Change Bank leaves out the line I remember most. How do we make money? Volume!

I said, I LIKE QUARRY BECAUSE IT’S CRUNCHY!

Yes, and it is awesome. The customer was played by Phil Hartman.

Rosanne I asked him who he thought I was, the Credit Card Fairy?

Phil I didn’t have answers for all the questions she asked me.

There was also Einstein Express for when it positively, absolutely has to be there the day before yesterday.

These are all good, but I’m going to have to vote for Bathroom Monkey.

MONKEY HATE CLEAN

My memory Might be a bit faulty, But I love that one.

Roseanne: So I told the guy he should call his company for a new card, or call mommy for some money, or else just take a check and shove it up his…
Phil: She suggested several options…

Bad Idea Jeans.

“Like swimmin’ holes and brimmin’ bowls of cereal maaade frooom stoooooone.”

My nominee: Dillon Edwards & Co.

Couldn’t find a video, but here’s the transcript:

MetroCard

What? No one has mentioned the “Mercury Mistress”?? (it’s possible it only aired once. I was stunned it got past the censors.)

My favorite as a parody of real commercials:

General Dynamics.

I also laughed a whole bunch at Big Red, and the details in Annuale are pretty perfect.

And another example of very low-key brilliance: Grayson Moorehead

Dillon and Edwards Investments…at www.clownpenis.fart.

The Adobe

“Pizza? Now that’s what I call a taco!”

Annualle (offended my ex!) and Mom Jeans. Say what you will about SNL, but the parody commercials have only gotten better in recent years.

“Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.”

Wow.
