Best "Angry" lyrics

Yes, brilliant vitrol. And yet I can’t think of the song in the same way since I heard it was about Joey from Full House…

Ron Isley’s “Busted.” The third degrees and lame ass excuses that make up the bulk of the lyrics are funny as hell, but the refrain is just terrific.

Go upstairs
Back your bags
While you’re at it
Call a cab
It’s obvious
You’re playing around
Go upstairs and get your shit
And get the fuck up out of here
!

Staind’s Mudshovel pretty much fits the bill. Look the lyrics up online…a sampler:

I feel betrayed
Stuck in your ways
And you rip me apart
With the brutal things you say
I can’t deal with shit anymore
I just look away

Cause you can’t feel my ANGER
You can’t feel my pain
You can’t feel my torment
Driving me insane
I can’t fight these feelings they bring only pain
You can’t take away
Make me whole again

First ones that came to mind:

Head Like A Hole - Nine Inch Nails
Slip It In - Black Flag

I should add that the lyrics alone don’t make the song…the music does. It is one hell of an angry song.

I nominate Type “O” Negative’s “I know you’re fucking someone else.”

Trust and you’ll be trusted
Says the liar to the fool
Lust - so what if you’re busted?
In love and war there ain’t no rules

First one that came to mind for me was Dirt by Alice In Chains.

I Want To Taste Dirty, A Stinging Pistol
In My Mouth, On My Tongue
I Want You To Scrape Me From The Walls
And Go Crazy Like You’ve Made Me

“I’m So Angry”
It’s like a poison to me
It’s like you put me in shock
You stick a needle in me
Every time that you talk

“Step on You”
You’re wrecking my day
You ruin my nights
I’m gonna strap on my spikes
Because I’m ready to fight
I’m gonna step on you!

Both Alice Cooper, of course. I’ll add - “Why Trust You”, “Love’s A Loaded Gun” and about a dozen more. Alice does pissed off real good!

Heya, Patty and Chuck!
Nice of you to encapsulate all of that anger for a friend.

Reggie and the Full Effect- Songs Not To Get Married To is one of the best albums lyrically and musically that I have heard in some time. Great album! It is full of bitterness and 9 out of the 12 songs are angry or resigned, or both.

They have a really cool and whimsically sad video for “Get well soon” featuring a newly divorced and lovesick Loch Ness monster on the skids. Funny as hell.

Some songs and lyrics from Songs Not To Get Married To:
Caving
The Trooth
Thanks for the Misery
What the Hell is a Stipulation?
Get Well Soon
Playing Dead

*I’ve seen a lot of women who haven’t had much luck
I’ve seen you looking like you’ve been run down by a truck

[…snip…]

Well you may have been a pioneer in the trade of women’s wear
But all you got was a mop up job washing other people’s stairs

[…snip…]

Someone grab that bitch by the ears
Rub her down scrub her back
And turn her inside out
`Cause I bet she hasn’t had a bath in years*

Dirty Little Girl, Elton John and Bernie Taupin (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road)

Bob Mould’s “Sacrifice / Let There Be Peace”

It’s not just the lyrics, but the way he sings them. Pretty intense.

Paradise by the Dashboard Light is an incredibly bitter song. Not about an ex, unfortunately, but about someone who really should be an ex.

*I swore I would love you to the end of time…

So now I’m prayin’ for the end of time.
Hurry up and arrive.
'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don’t think that I could really survive.*

When I’m bitter and angry I listen to The Wall, no matter what the source. It has the best sneering lyrics. (I guess there’s always The Smiths, but I don’t want to drive you to suicide :o) (Or would that be Blue Clocks Green? :))

Other than that, there’s always Song for the Dumped, by Ben Folds Five:
So, you wanted to take a break, slow it down some and have some space?
Give me my money back, give me my money back, you bitch.
Give me my money back, and don’t forget, to give me back my black t-shirt.

“Untouchable Face” - Ani DiFranco

so fuck you
and your untouchable face
and fuck you
for existing in the first place
and who am i
that i should be vying for your touch
and who am i
i bet you can’t even tell me that much

*Forward to Death, * ,from those chipper campers Dead Kennedys:
I don’t need your way of life
I can’t stand your attitudes
I can do without your strife
I don’t need this fucking world
I don’t need this fucking world

This world brings me down
Gag with every breath
This world brings me down
I’m looking forward to death

I have always preferred “Your Breaking My Heart” by Harry Nilsson.

Your breaking my heart;
Your tearing it apart;
So fuck you.

Oh, well then -

To the tune of an old Twenties song, Jadda,

Fuck ya
Fuck ya
F U C K Y A
Fuck ya
Fuck Ya
F U C K Y A
I really hate your fucking guts
And I’d like to kick ya in the nuts, so
Fuck ya
Fucky ya
F U C K Y A,
I really mean it
F U C K Y AAAAAAAA!

You’ve gotta do a big finish at the end!

I tend to think this was recorded by someone - Mclean & Mclean, maybe?

I cannot blame it all on her
To blame her all would be a lie
For many a night I lay awake
And wished that I could watch her die
To see her accusing finger spurt
To see flies swarm her hateful eye
To watch her groaning in the dirt
To see her clicking tongue crack dry *

“Brother My Cup is Empty” - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Another vote for Ben Fold Five’s “Song for the Dumped”.
Also, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones’ “High School Dance” is quietly, creepily angry.

Saves The Day’s “Rocks Tonic Juice Magic” is a good one.
*I’ll take my rusty spoons
And dig out your blue eyes
I’ll swallow them down to my colon
They’re gonna burn like hell tonight
*

And there’s always “Smack My Bitch Up” by Prodigy.
