Best bed sheets

It’s time to replace my bed sheets. I have a memory foam mattress if that matters. I am not looking for a bargain. I want the best, most comfortable sheets that are reasonably durable. I know that thread count is a consideration but that it’s not everything. I’m pretty sure that I want cotton. Any specific or general information would be appreciated.

Thanks…

You want 100% cotton sheets without an anti-wrinkle treatment, anywhere from 250 to 400 thread count. Brand doesn’t matter. I usually find mine at Tuesday Morning or TJ Maxx.

We got some bamboo sheets from Cariloha and they’re fantastic. Much cooler and silkier than cotton. We plan on getting some more.

Another vote for Cotton.
We get our sheets from JC Penny.

I ordered two sets of these last week.

One conflict in my family is replacing sheets. I like a new set every three or four years. They fit snugger and look better.

My mom will try to get 12 years out of sheets. They just aren’t that expensive.

I think we did this just a few weeks ago.

By far the best sheets I get for the money are from CostCo, if you have one near. I’ve have tried everything from Bamboo to 1000 thread count. I’ve been happiest with the CostCo cotton sets and the prices are very reasonable.

My only recommendation is to be sure they’ll fit. Many mattresses today are thicker than in days gone by. Go for deep pockets!

Yes, we just did this recently. And I’ll reiterate: Wamsutta Dream Zone sheets. High thread count cotton, slightly satiny finish, deep pockets, and they stand up like iron to frequent washing. Kind of spendy, though.

I am trying to envision a reasonable situation where you and your Mom would be in conflict over when either of you would get new sheets and failing.

Boll and Branch are very good. But expensive.

Anything but those g’damn jersey knit things. Like trying sleep on a sheet of rubber. (They stretch and drag with you, then snap back.)

Concur with good but not extremely expensive cotton. Flannels are nice in winter.

That’s why I started to buy sheets from Lands End. They used to be one of the few places that sold sheets with deep pockets but now that’s more widely available. They still have an advantage in that the elastic on their fitted sheets goes all the way around.

When you have to sleep over at your mom’s house and you’re like “when the hell did you replace these sheets and was there a Whig party active at the time, Mom?” and she’ll say “did you just touch the thermostat?!”

I’ve only used cotton flannel sheets for 40 years. Organic cotton for preference.
