What fast food joint has the best burgers? Notice they never look as good as they do in the commercials? My vote is for Wendy’s
I would also have to go with Wendy’s…
with Burger King a close second…
Although they are disgustingly horrible for you so I haven’t eaten either in a long time…
I suggest reading “Fast Food Nation”. It will put you off fast food burgers for life. How about a thread for best burger joints in America? One of my favorites is Five Guys in Virginia.
Wendy’s
We get our best burgers from a delivery outfit that’s been through all sorts of name changes. Steak Around, Off The Grill, others. Big patty, well cooked, lots of extras. Beats the other fast food outfits that I have long since quit subsidizing.
Wendy’s are good, but the new Angus Beef[SUP]TM[/SUP] burgers at Hardee’s aren’t too shabby either.
I had an Angus beef burger at a place called The Backyard Grill. I didn’t think it was all that good. I did notice that the burger was solid and didn’t easily tear. I didn’t think it was worth the $6.
What makes Angus beef so great anyway?
Fatburger.
Better than In-N-Out, and better fries to boot.
Does Fudruckers count as Fast Food?
IF not, I go with Rally’s. Big and Sloppy, just how I like my…anyway.
“Fatburger. There is no substitute.”
At 3:00 AM after drinking your weight in beer, the only answer can be White Castle.
Another vote for Fatburger.
Although if you don’t like waiting, In-N-Out will do…
I don’t think Fuddrucker’s is fast food, but they are the best.
Fast food? -Wendy’s
If it doesn’t have to be national or international, then
Blake’s Lottaburger -found in New Mexico.
I gotta say Harvey’s, though I agree with Fatburger when in Los Angeles. (I never got to try a Big Kahuna Burger, I hear they’re some tasty burgers…)
Chefguy, I thought I was a lonely voice, shouting the praises of Five Guys burgers all by myself. I’m glad there’s someone else who recognizes burger genius.
If you’re ever in Davis, CA, go to Redrum Burger, formerly called Murder Burger. It’s to kill for. I’m also partial to Red Robin.
In N’ Out.
no contest, IMO.
*Swenson’s double cheeseburger in Akron, OH. Endorsed by The New York Times(actually writer Johnny Apple) as the best burger in America.
Also endorsed by Ukulele Ike as a damn good burger.
When I first moved to California, I was amazed by the fact that the Hamburger Habit, Fatburger, and In N Out (in that order) all had better hamburgers than any of the more nationally-known chains.
Jack’s Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger is good, but how many multi-thousand calorie hamburgers can you really eat in a month? The double-charburger at the Habit is a great once-a-week burger.

Hamburger Habit does indeed have an excellent burger! And their fries cooked in canola oil are the best. But Fatburger gets the nod over both HH and In-N-Out. I like they way the meat is seasoned. IMO In-N-Out is only voted “the best” so often because there are more of them around than Fatburger.
Fatburger is the best. No contest.
