I’m a bartender and I’ve devoted the past 6 months to finding the one drink that no woman can turn down. So far the best I’ve come up with is a Grand-mother (shot; half vodka half Dark Cream de Curaco). I’m not asking what’s your favorite drink, I’m asking what is the favorite alcoholic drink of an entire gender. Any suggestions?
Melonball! Melonball!
1 little can of pineapple juice
1 shot of Midori Melon Liquor
1 shot good vodka (optional)
Little umbrella
It’s light, it’s fruity, it’s a cute drink!
You can also use OJ, but it’s really sweet that way.
mmmmmmmmmmm

I have to admit I’m partial to any drink that comes with a little umbrella. Especially if it’s being served to me while I lounge on a beach chair in Hawaii.
'course, I’m partial to just about any drink, period. So maybe that doesn’t mean very much.
Long island ice tea is a fav of the women around here. Mainly because after one or two you got your buzz without drinking a lot of drinks. Right Sue?
I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.
I’m a bit partial to a Hawaiian Punch, but no bartender will ever give up the secret ingredients to me. They’re damn good, with about the same amount of alcohol as a Long Island, but they taste JUST like Hawaiian Punch. I’ve had it in both shot and mixed drink form, and they’re both incredibly good, and damn near lethal.
I have to admit, my knee-jerk reaction to all three of these phrases is “Eeeeeewwww!” Can’t stand sweet stuff. About the only “chick drinks” I do like are dry white wine and champagne.
Sorry, you probably can’t please all women all the time…
Cosmopolitan
Martini
But your asked to try.
DB,
Could this be it? http://psp.pair.com/barnone/recipes/shooters/h/hawaiianpunchfromhell.html

I’m a martini or single malt person myself, but you just might be able to tempt me with a champagne cocktail of some sort. I bet most women also wouldn’t turn down a really good margarita.
Close, Zette, but no cigar. I KNOW that it calls for Malibu Rum because I can taste the hint of coconut. I’m pretty sure it’s got Stoli Orang and Southern Comfort in it, but it’s not at all fizzy, so no 7-Up. Not sure at all about the amaretto.
Does this sound familiar to any bartenders? I would LOVE to know how to make this drink.
oooooooohhhhh Bailey’s is great… But with the last two days I’ve had… Bud Light did the trick…
Girlbysea (AKA: ChiefScott’s GBS)
I’m partial to the free kind.
Just about any will do. Yep, I’m easy.
This life is a test. It is only a test. If it had been an actual life, you would have received further instructions on where to go and what to do.
DB, Hawaiian Punch is one of those drinks that every bartender makes different. I highly doubt that by going to different bars in your area and ordering it you get the same drink. Like you said some will make a shot, and some will make a drink, most not knowing that you could do both. Chances are the shot and the drink aren’t that similar either. I’d go as far as saying you don’t even get the same drink from different bartenders in the same bar on the same night. The possible exception being if it is a bar specialty where the bartenders either pour from a large premade batch, or all trained on a precise way to make it. Typically the only place one sees this in in places like TGI Fridays, every other bar I’ve been in relies on the bartenders to make thing their way.
I make a Hawaiian Punch like this:
Shot Orange Stoli
Shot Amaretto
Shot Sothern Comfort
Shot Sloe Gin
Equal parts OJ, Sour Mix and 7-UP
Shake well over ice, serve with a twist of orange. Umbrella optional
I’ll tell you there is no perfect chick drink. Way to many prefer fruity, and too many only like chocolaty and creamy. You need a bag of 4-5 golden specialties other than the typical ones.
A girl asks for a drink, but doen’t know what she wants, you need to give her the following options.
[ul][li]Cosmopolitan (good for upscale joints) or another martiniesque drink, blue and green variations are popular.[/li][li]Margarita - make it well, offer frozen or rocks, use fresh lime juice.[/li][li]Long Island Iced Tea - get your proportions right, taste it and learn to do it just right. If she sounds hesitant about the strength, make it a touch weaker and squeeze in some fresh lemon and lime juice to cut the bite.[/li][li]Orgasm - and a Screaming Orgasm[/li][li]Buttery Nipple - basic[/li][li]Your best fruity shot - use creativity with the name, make it something they’ve never heard of[/ul][/li]
Those are your simple ones, you’ll want to know a bunch of fruity shots, no one will please all women. Some like melon, some like blue curacao, others kaluha. A good bartender has a big menu, not a one trick pony.
My lubricator? A Long Beach. Most haven’t tried it, and its got the punch to put 'em on their back ;).
Um, Omni? Hon? If you know so much about drinks and women, how did you end up back at Flyp’s ALONE last weekend? sweet smile (Oh come on…I couldn’t resist, folks!)
Oh, and this chick prefers vodka and cranberry juice. I’m actually not a fan of “girly” drinks.

No one has said straight shots of (good) tequila yet?
Definately shots of tequila, with lemon OR lime, or margaritas!
I am also very partial to cherry brandy with a bit of ‘lemon bar mix’, tastes like a sour cherry candy, tasty! Coconut rum is good straight.
Um, omni, I saw your pic, and…well, you dont need any liquor to get 'em on their backs. Check a mirror babe, you are ALL THAT!
Actually, Occam, I like a well-made frozen margarita, no salt. And I’ve been known to put back a few amaretto-on-the-rocks as well. Probably one of my all-time fav’s is a strawberry daquiri, frozen, of course. And I also like a good dry white wine or champayne.
And there’s always the basic rum and coke.

Malibu rum and pineapple juice.
