Best fast food breakfast that can be eaten in the car...

I just couldn’t lose weight until I started getting up earlier and eating a lower-fat breakfast before I got in the car (though I do miss those McD B’fast Burritos).

Not to be holier-than-thou … just “skinnier-than-me”. I’ve lost 15 lbs!

A McDonald’s Southern Chicken on a Biscuit or a McDonald’s Southern Chicken on a McGriddle Muffin with Bacon, Cheese, and Pickle (Canadian Bacon optional).

I don’t know if one shold take the Wendy’s Breakdast Locator as gospel. The Wendy’s across the street from me here in Pittsburgh has been serving breakfast for a couple of years now. I like to get their artisan sandwiches with bacon. Granted, they’re a bit small, but two of those will cost you just a shade under $5 and they’re perfect to eat one-handed.

Bri2k

Yeah, I’ve been to airports where the Ruby Tuesday’s and the Chili’s both serve breakfast - no idea how that works in terms of corporate.

I’m a fan of the dollar burrito at McDonald’s. You actually get egg and sausage versus the other dollar breakfast sandwiches which are all sausage and no egg. The difference between the sausage McMuffin and the sausage & egg McMuffin is $1.79 which is one damn expensive egg.

Throw in my large coffee and, for two bucks, I’m ready to rock.

Interesting, I know of at least 2 stores here in the New Orleans area that serve it (or well, it has the signs out for those breakfast sandwiches – I’ve not tried them yet)…but they’re not showing up in their locator.

The Wendys near where I work serves breakfast. I really like their sausage and egg burrito. $3 for two and pretty filling and easy to eat.

Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuit or the spicy chicken biscuit.

I like the McD’s sausage burrito (just one, no hash browns) but the quality is variable. Sometimes it’s perfect. Sometimes it’s been reheated too much and the tortilla sticks to the wrapper making an unholy mess. This morning my burrito was cold inside which was disgusting.

If nutrition was no object, I’d get the chicken biscuit ever day. Those are tasty.

I’d like to find something with fewer calories - so far the best I can do is the McMuffin, but I don’t really care for those. I liked the new bagel sandwiches until I looked at how many calories are in one.

Most every work morning I’ll get a JitB Grilled Breakfast Sandwich; grilled toast, egg, cheese and ham. It’s delicious.

My choice, Roy Rogers’ sourdough ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. It’s a bit big and probably as healthy as a bullet flying at you… but it’s tasty.

This is my fallback, but I ALWAYS order it on a biscuit. It’s so good, i want one right now. Second would be DD Sausage egg and cheese croissant.

I would fight a crowd of men to have a Roy Rogers close to me. The best roast beef sandwich.

My car is new (to me, anyway), so no eating in it allowed.

Sorry, do carry on.

Sausage McMuffin, NO EGG,please toast the damn muffin, don’t just warm it.

I think McD’s has the yummiest sausage anywhere, just a perfect balance of everything for me (I’m a sage freak), and while I generally abhor YankeePlastic (aka American Cheese) this is one application it is perfect for. I have loved these stupid things for 30 years and it’s always a treat for me to find myself out and about near a MickeyD before 10:30 AM so I can have one. Or two.

Also a fan of the hashbrowns, although I rarely get them and the last few times I did the fat in them seemed bitter and unpleasant.

I’m still hooked on the buttery and sage greasy illuminatis of the McD’s plain and simple $1 Sausage biscuit. Having been an employee of McDonald’s I can vouch for the real and authentic McD’s Biscuit… they still do the best metronomic biscuit in old fashioned authenticity with modern convection methods… better even than Bob Evan’s Biscuits…

… and for that matter, I would even pit their mass produced breakfast sausage against Jimmy Dean’s in a blind taste test. See where American tastes lie.

A fried egg sandwich, which unfortunately, you living in the colonies, will never be able to experience.

What is special about your fried egg sandwich? I like to make fried egg sandwiches, but I get the feeling I might be missing something.

The Artisan sandwiches are amazing. I love them so much.

ThelmaLou, your location field says Texas. Whataburger, hands down. Since you need to lay off the carbs, I’d probably have to advise against their Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit even though it is the food of the gods themselves, but the rest of their breakfast stuff is fantastic. Their “taquitos,” which are just breakfast burritos, are really tasty, and I love their Egg Sandwiches: just a cooked egg and a slice of cheese on a burger bun.

I’d get one of their bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches and see how you like it, then go from there. Whataburger’s the closest you can get to breakfast diner nosh from a fast food place.
