I like 9 Chickweed Lane, too, except for that stupid Siamese cat. It’s the only strip I bother to read on the Net, as it doesn’t run in the NY Daily News newspaper. For fine sequential humor, you can’t beat an amusing nun!
I TRY to like Get Fuzzy, but something about it throws me. The recent Judge Judy episodes were downright painful, especially the ones that ended with a closeup of the cat…saying…nothing. What were we suppose to make of those?
What, no Bizarro?! Boondocks is quite cool. Bizarro and Non Sequitur are about equally daffy. Speed Bump has its moments. Mutts is very good, though folks who don’t keep pets won’t connect to most of it. Pickles is not consistent, but it’s brilliant in spots. My 5-year picks are Boondocks and Bizarro. That is, from now 'til 2007.
Hmm…the ones that I follow are For Better or For Worse, Zits, the Boondocks, Non-Sequitur and Foxtrot.
The Boondocks…heh. Had no idea before this comic that you were allowed to put marijuana in a daily strip, at least when in reference to P. Diddy. Rather enlightening comic.
You know, Garfield really did used to be funny. What happened?
Like AskNott, I’d like to give a shout out to Bizarro. Especially since Dan Pisarro graduated from the same high school as me…
Other faves: Zits, Boondocks, Foxtrot, and of course, the all-time classics corner consisting of Doonesbury, the Far Side, Calvin & Hobbes, and Bloom County. The last few strips of both Calvin & Hobbes and Bloom County really got me all choked up…
Well, the Holy Trinity of Calvin & Hobbes,The Far Side, and Bloom County, if course. Blessed be.
For modern day comics, I think I’ll be the first to suggest Kevin & Kell, even though it technically doesn’t even appear in a newspaper.
Oddly enough, I kind of like Luann. At least when the storyline is focusing on some of the supporting characters. I can’t stand Luann herself…and odder still, I think the artist is making her character unsympathetic on purpose.

Surprised I haven’t Seen Baby Blues on here yet… Chalk another one up for Fox Trot and Boondocks… And I don’t know if the circulation is as widespread, but one called Grand Ave that keeps me in stitches
Darby Conley for Get Fuzzy will catch me unawares and make me snarf my cereal in the morning. Aaron McGuder and his Boondocks is also great. Both are not afraid to speak their mind politically either, and that makes me proud to know that these two folks I like are strong enough not to back down from their convictions.
My absolutely favorite strip is Get Fuzzy. I used to suspect Darby Conley worked as a veterinary professional as I do because he has animals pegged down. A couple of years ago he did a storyline about Satchel suspecting that Bucky gave him mange. It was one of the funniest things I had ever read. I used to like Bloom County too. I miss that strip.
