What do you think was the best female fight in movies or TV? I always thought the fight between Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin in “Total Recall” was one of the best.
Look no further than Sydney Bristow vs. evil Francie in the Alias season 2 finale. It’s long, brutal, and awesome.
Also, Buffy vs. Faith in Graduation Day.
Oh, you guys aren’t even close. The best fight in the movies has to be Charlize Theron in that white catsuit duking it out with Teri Hatcher in “2 Days in the Valley.” The rest of the movie is a real waste of videotape, but THAT scene’ll stick to ya.
On TV, the gals from “She Spies” seem to have a nice donnybrook at least once an episode and sometimes several times. Sometimes they even fight with black-leather clad bad girls. Their fights are generally energetic and unusually realistic-looking, and they outdo everybody in tersm of quantity.
Haven’t seen “2 Days In the Valley” or "She Spies, but I second the other fights listed. Personally, Ca’t forget the fight between the two gypsy girls in “From Russia With Love,” the second James Bond film. No martial arts, no special effects or ninjitsu. Just clawing, scratching, biting, body checks, and bosoms. Lots of heaving bosoms.
Crouching Tiger, anyone? The fight in the dojo has to be one of the coolest in the movie, with the entire assortment of weapons being used.
Yes! Crouching Tiger.
That, and the ‘Hero’ fight between Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi. Not the best fight in the movie and it does get a bit too symbolic/melodramatic but the moves are beautiful.
For a bit more comedy, look no further than the 1993 Hong Kong production ‘the Legend of Fong-Sai Yuk’, incidentally starring Jet Li. Good wire action there. Minor spoiler, but a box is in order:
In this scene, Li’s mother dresses up as a man and proceeds to fight the mother of his love interest - for her hand in marriage. This in turn causes two things: A sub-plot in which the girl’s mother falls in love with Li’s mother and the main plot briefly turning into full-fledged screwball comedy as Li mistakenly believes he’s getting married to his lover’s ugly maid. Wierd but enjoyable.
Absolutely no question about it. In fact, we might as well shut this thread down now.
I agree, because of the cool way it ended…“Consider this a divorce.”
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon without a shadow of a doubt.
Like Evil Captor, I’m nominating 2 Days in the Valley.
C’mon - it was Charlize Theron in spandex.
Gotta go with Crouching Tiger as well, but honorable mentions go to:
Ripley vs. the Queen in Aliens
Joan Crawford vs. Mercedes McCambridge in Johnny Guitar
Marlene Dietrich vs. Una Merkel in Destry Rides Again
There is a scene in Natural Born Killers where Juliette Lewis clocks some guy with a roundhouse. I only wish I could punch like that. It’s not really a fight and it’s not against another woman but what a punch.
The scenes in Mummy Returns between Evelyn/Nefertiri and Anck Su Namun. Mmmm.
The fight in Crouching Tiger… was great, except there was nothing remotely prurient about it. I’d go with the topless sword duel in Mata Hari with Sylvia Krystal.
No way. The best female fight is the two girl guides in Airplane!
Does the Miller commercial count? “Less Taste” vs. “More Filling.”
In the television show the Avengers Diana Rigg against anyone.
As for movies, the two gypsy women in the James Bond film From Russia With Love.
I liked the fight in Bringing Down the House. Queen Latifa and Missy Pile.
But CTHD is really the best.
2 days in the Valley was good. I seem to remenber some good fights in Tamara Dobson’s Cleopatra Jones’ movies too, copied in Undercover Brother.
No, no, no. The best fight ever was Crystal Carrington (Linda Evans) vs. Alexis Morell Colby Carrington Dexter Colby (Joan Collins) in a big outdoor fountain, in Dynasty.
