Best Game-based Music Video?

There are a lot of game-based music videos out there on Youtube, and some of them have music backgrounds that really get your blood pumping. I figure this would be the forum where people would know about such things. I’ll kick things off by nominating this one:

“God of War III” featuring “Indestructible” by Disturbed.

Gonna be hard to beat, I suspect.

A little different than you are expecting, I think.

Sacred 2 in-game concert by Blind Guardian:

I’m guessing you don’t mean something like Katie Perry’s “California Gurls” video based on the boardgame Candyland, which is what I thought of when I saw the thread title.

This was a triumph!

Final Fantasy VII’s One Winged Angel, or pretty much the entire game’s soundtrack, VI’s if you’re old school

Is this game machinima used to make music videos or official music videos that take stylistic queues from video games?

Yeah, but it didn’t really combine in-game imagery with the music in a way that makes both more powerful, as a good game music video does. It was just a standard concert video except the audience was not human.

Gears of War- Mad World:

OK, that absolutely rocked. Such a nice counterpoint between the game action and the music. It was the sort of thing I was hoping to find. Right into the playlist it goes. Thanks!

I’m not sure what you mean. Perhaps you could post an example or two.

The best game-inspired music video period.

Complete History Of The Soviet Union, Arranged To The Melody Of Tetris.

Sheer brilliance.

And if generic action scenes set to Disturbed blows your hair back, wait until you see generic frags set to Drowning Pool.

I cant say it’s the best, but brilliant … hell, yeah!

Both work for me. Hell, the Katy Perry video works for me, though it’s really getting far afield from what I asked about. The visual inventiveness and intelligence of the Tetris and Katy Perry videos makes them work more than the game theme, though.

Ohh I liked that one - never realized the GoW series is so pretty.
