Best Kevin Smith Flicks PLUS: Is there anyone who DOESN'T like his movies?

I’m indifferent to him.

Clerks reminded me of watching a boring high school production, with poor acting, 2-D characters, and humor aimed at 13-year-old boys. After I saw that I had zero interest in ever seeing another Kevin Smith movie. I don’t have enough time to spend the rest of my life watching Kevin Smith movies when there are thousands upons thousands of great movies out there for me to explore.

But I will give him and the PR machines credit, because Clerks, from what I remember at the time it came out, was an important movie in terms of getting audiences and distributors and theatres to take independent films seriously. And he has a cult following, so apparently a number of people get something out of his work.

I still have yet to watch CLERKS & CHASING AMY

I TOTALLY LOVE DOGMA!!! I find it theologically profound & moving.

MALLRATS and J&SLSB- plain stupid fun!

I’ve only seen Dogma. Eh, it wasn’t bad, but I didn’t think it was all that great either. It seemed to me like the movie thought it was smarter and more profound than it really was.

I guess I should see the other Smith movies just because it’s my duty as a geek or something, but I don’t feel particularly inclined to.

Kevin Smith sucks donkey balls.

A Fish Called Wanda, Sophie’s Choice or The Big Chill

Definitely “Fish”, but worthy of nomination also are “In and Out” and “French Kiss”.

I still believe that Kevin Smith has only one movie in him, and that was Clerks.

Kevin Smith is one of those directors whose work just cannot be discussed. People seem to either insist he’s a genius and a funny, funny man or denounce him as a childish moron who got lucky writing poop jokes.

I think Quentin Tarantino and perhaps George Lucas fall into this category as well.
