Rather than Best Last Words, this thread is for thoughts which prove to be the last distributed in written or broadcast form.
I’ll start with Nelson’s ‘England expects that every man will do his duty’ as an example of one which, though famous, does not count; and ‘Engage the enemy more closely’ as one which does.
I can’t find an online version of it, but Will Roger’s last column reads with an eerie finality to it, almost as if he knew what was coming next.

I found this in my beloved copllection of Variety Obituaries :
Winifred Greene, soubret, aged 20 years, with the “Ginger Girls” while at the Gayety last week ended her life by drinking carbolic acid. Miss Greene was the wife of Lester Bert Payne, electrician with the show, whom she married four years ago in Minneapolis. She left two notes which gave evidence that her life had been anything but pleasant, despondency causing her to commit suicide. One note was to her husband. It said, “Bert–If you are going to heaven, I want to go to hell. ”
I find that in all-around general air-to air combat situations, the AIM-120 AAMRAAM meets the criteria for warhead size, speed …
