Hi folks,
Where would you suggest I take my inlaws for lobster in southeastern Maine?
Thanks.
Hi folks,

Where in Maine? Are they near Ogunquit? That’s a very pretty town to walk around, and has a number of great restaurants.
Shaw’s Warf, New Harbor. Also, for lobster rolls try Reds in Wisscasset (sp?) right on route 1 at the river. Actually these are both more mid-coast, where will you be?
If you want semi-fancy and in the city, then head for DeMillo’s in Portland on the waterfront.
A little further south, might I recommend the Cape Neddick Inn - again, kind of upscale - very nice place.
The Grey Gull in Wells is also very nice.
For something a little more rusticated, try Fox’s Lobster House in York Beach.
Please stay away from the Weathervane chain of restaurants - they’re basically like a cross between Denny’s and McDonalds, except for the fact that they serve seafood.
Not knowing exactly where in Southern Maine you’ll be, I’ve given you my personal fave list. Please understand that I have not actually lived in Maine now for over ten years - but I have visited Cape Neddick Inn and Fox’s in the last two years.
Have a nice time!

Kevin’s place. He was a lobsterman in a former life and I’ve never had better lobster before or since. But I lost his phone number years ago and can’t remember his last name, so I’ll recommend Cook’s Lobster House instead. Mostly because any restaurant that has a dock instead of a loading dock is high on my list of places eat.
Cook’s is … I dunno, maybe half an hour north and east of Portland? Pretty drive, though.
Cooks is in a very nice local visually. Though considering they charge market value for their lobster, it is more expensive than some of the other local shops. 3 years ago when I was in Maine for a family reunion (My fathers family is in Auburn/Lewiston area) we had pretty decent lobster at the hotel for $13. It cost around $23-$36 at Cooks, better tasting yes, but not sure it was worth the increased price.
