When Broom Hilda (the witch) taps her feet together, goes “HEE HEE HEE!” and runs away - I love how little bobby pins hover in the air.
I know - I got onto the second page really enjoying it then happened to glance at the date and was all :smack:.
Me too, but still, we learn from our elders. (Or just people that researched it before!) Everyone I loved came up.
I’m looking for the one that’s like Chip n Dale. But it’s not that. There was two of them, they had British accents as I remember and they lived in a tree that got cut down and taken to a lumber factory.
One of them grabs up a handful of shavings and it ends up like a blonde wig on his head and he starts singing “There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.”
Then the other squirrel/chipmunk basically bitchslaps him.
The wigged one says “sorry”.
It may not be shown anymore, I don’t know. I loved it b/c my mom would sing me that song.
Yeah, I’m normal. ![]()

Friz Freleng’s cartoon Hare Trigger, Yosemite Sam (in his debut) calls himself “the meanest, toughest, rip-roarin’-est, Edward Everett Horton-est hombre what ever packed a six-shooter!”
That’s “Witch Hazel”, not Broom Hilda. The latter is a comic strip character.
Here ya go… I live to serve. (4:55 mark)
Thanks!!!

Thank you and I don’t know if you noticed these days that the wolf has a note from Big Snookie to take care of Little Snookie. You probably have, knowing the cartoon but I laughed hard.
Elmer Fudd…
“KILL THE WABBIT KILL THE WABBIT…”
“…I killed the bunny…”
I believe the proper response is “thennnnk yew”.
I didn’t read the entire thread, and I’m sure somebody mentioned this one, but Daffy as Robin Hood, Yoiks and Awaaaaay! Cracks me up every time.
My favourite moments are examples of funny silence.
“Barbary-Coast Bunny”, where the thug explains about the guy with the bigger hand winning; cue Bugs inflating his glove… “CUT IT OUT, CAN’T YA!!!”
“Rabbit Seasoning”(?)
The look in Daffy’s eyes when Elmer tells him “But I haven’t got a wicense to shoot a fwickaseein wabbit.”
The look on Bugs’ face right after the bull runs into the hidden anvil. To me the essence of Bugs Bunny**
I feel somewhat inferior because I don’t know the name of the cartoon. But there is one cartoon when Bugs is conducting an orchestra and he is doing battle with a male opera singer. He has some technique that forces the singer to hold a note for a long, long (far too long) time until the singer literally explodes. Talk about a “big bang”!
Would anyone know if that is the same cartoon with The Barber of Seville song?
No, the one you’re thinking of is Long-Haired Hare.
The other was, I’m pretty sure, Rabbit of Seville - it was certainly a cartoon that pitted him against Elmer Fudd, in any case.
Oh yes. Long Haired Hare!
I just watched it to be certain.
How can there be a funnier cartoon than this one?
Can anyone seriously say this is not the funniest Looney Tunes cartoon of all time?
From the moment that Bugs is sitting on top of the orchestra shell and taps the shell with his fingers and we see the look of bewilderment and terror in the eyes of the singer, I actually LOL’d. I almost never LOL when watching a cartoon. But from that moment on, every moment of this cartoon was pure comedy gold.
I suppose someone might have a cartoon they find funnier than this one. But I just can’t imagine that. IMO, this one is the top. The top of the top. I can’t imagine any cartoon funnier than this one. It is a scream. Absolutely hysterical.
For all of you who have never seen it. I wish for you that you find it and watch it and just try not to LOL. I’m willing to wager dollars to donuts that you won’t be able to do that. It is just hilarious. The funniest cartoon I have ever seen.
P.S. Thank you Kamino.
No problem.
Long-Haired Hare is a great cartoon, indeed.
(Not my favourite, though…I’m a sucker for interacting with the fourth wall, so Duck Amuck is.)
I found a very interesting site.
Someone lists and rates all the Looney Tune cartoons. You might want to give this a look:
A favorite note mentioned…
In Design For Leaving, Daffy the salesman has installed all the modern push-button conveniences in Elmer’s home.
Daffy, proceeding to walk Elmer over to a designated area: "Stairs, schmairs. We don’t walk upstairs in a pushbutton home, we bring the upstairs, downstairs. Neat. "
Elmer: “But what happens to the downstairs?”
Daffy: “Say, that’s a good question…whatd’ya say we find out?”
