Wasn’t there a Bugs Bunny where Bugs became a bullfighter? I remember a scene where the bull somehow swallowed a rifle. When he slammed his rifle-shaped tail on the ground, a bullet shot out of one of his horns. The look of confusion he gave the “camera” was priceless. He then figured out he could shoot bullets at Bugs in this way, until he ran out of ammo. Click click click.
“The world, she is a-round!”
“The world, she is flat.”
“The world, she is a-round, like-a this apple!”
“The world, she is flat, like this pancake.”
“The world, she is a-round, like-a my head!” WHAM
“The world, she is flat, like your head.”
Ah, yes. “Bully For Bugs”, IIRC. The priceless look was on the bull’s face as it flew over the glue, sandpaper, etc. Sheer puzzlement.
“What a gull-a-bull. What a nin-cow-poop.”
Mt all-time favorite: “Where’s the kaboom? There’s supposed to be an Earth-shattering kaboom! Delays, delays.”
I love the one where the two mice find an enormous wheel of cheese. They eat until they are so stuffed they’re miserable. They decide that they can never eat cheese again. But if they can’t eat cheese, then what’s the point of living? So they decide to commit suicide by walking into a cat’s mouth. The cat, not getting why this is so easy, figures he’s going crazy, so he decides to commit suicide by inserting himself into a dog’s mouth. The dog is confused by this, etc.
Bugs: He is Jack.
Daffy: It’s a lie! It’s a lie! My name is, uh, Aloysius. His name is Jack. Jack Rabbit.
Bugs: Oh, no. You’re Jack, all right.
Daffy: I am not. You’re Jack.
Bugs: You are Jack and you know it, because it is a fact.
and the 3 with Bugs, Daffy & Elmer
2 of the titles are “Duck, Rabbit, Duck” and “Rabbit Seasonings”
I think the third is “Wabbit Season”
one ends with Bugs:“Would you like to shoot me now or wait til we get home?”
Daffy: “Oh, no. not again. Wait til we get home” and he walks off with Elmer. After a gunshot. he walks back to Bugs and says “you’re dispicable”
one ends with
“Duck Season”
“Rabbit Season”
etc
“Elmer Season”
Be vewy vewy quiet, we’re hunting Elmers. heheheheheheh
and the third ends with Elmer going buts because every time he turns around, a different animal is in season. Til finally Bugs shows up dressed as a game warden and Elmer, exhausted and desparate, asks him “please tell me. what season is it?”
and Bugs says “It’s baseball season” and throws a ball. “go get it, boy!” and Elmer runs off, shooting his rifle at the ball as he goes
Elmer is pointing a gun at Bugs, and Bugs and Daffy are arguing over who he should shoot.
Bugs-“Duck seaon.” pushes gun towards Daffy
Daffy-“Rabbit season.” pushes gun towards Bugs
Bugs-“Duck seaon.” pushes gun towards Daffy
Daffy-“Rabbit season.” pushes gun towards Bugs
Bugs-“Rabbit season.” moves gun in a small circle
Daffy-“It’s duck season.” points gun towards himself “FIRE!”
Elmer fires, Daffy’s bill gets blown around his head a few times.
Daffy (with his bill on the back of his head)-“You’re despicable.”
I miss Looney Toons.
That’s Rabbit Seasoning. I love the goofy look on Elmer Fudd’s face as he shoots Daffy after Bugs-in-drag tells him how she would just looooooooove a duck dinner.
Some of my favorites : When Marvin the Martian accidentally turned Bugs into a “Neander-rabbit”, who promptly squashes him.
The show where Tweety Bird drinks some Jekyll/Hyde potion, and keeps turning into a giant, evil Tweety. My favorite scene is when Sylvester chases him into a closet. The door closes after Tweety; Sylvester whips it open - and Hyde Tweety snaps him up in one gulp, with just the tail sticking out of his beak.
The episode where Sylvester, the bulldog and an escaped black panther cross paths. There’s a scene where the bulldog corners Sylvester, who cowers away, not looking and slashing ineffectually with his claws. The dog looks away, smirking at the screen; the black panther leans out from above and slashes the bulldog into stripes, then pops back into hiding. Sylvester looks at his claws, then at the dog - I love his expression.
truth be told, the only Looney Tunes character I never really like was Porky
Something about him just rubbed me the wrong way - not sure what it was
oooh! what about the mutt trying to get porky to adopt him
“I’m part pointer - there it is! there it is!, part pinscher (pinches Porky)” etc
true - that’s a great one
but usually when “looney tunes” is mentioned - Bugs & Daffy are the first things to come to mind
I also loved the “documentaries” on the home of the future, the farm of the future, and I’m pretty sure there was a third in that series, but I can’t think of it
“Daffy Dilly” - Daffy tries to entertain a dying millionaire but has to get past a stuffy butler.
“High Diving Hare” - Bugs is a barker for “Fearless Freep” and is forced to do Freep’s act by Yosemite Sam. During the many times Bugs tricks Sam in jumping, Sam drops a few feet, rises back up to stare Bugs in the eye and says, “I hate you”.
“Let’s see, bread, salt, pepper, ketchup. What, no ketchup? Well, I guess I’ll just have to eat you without keeeeEEEEEETCHUP!?!”
“Oh George, you were a bad bunny rabbit. I shall have to punish you good. I will spank you and hurt you and rub your fur the wrong way. Like this.” foomp
