Best Racehorse/Greyhound name?

There was a horse once named “Mortar Forker”. The owners eventually had to change the name to “Fun Tonight”.

“Crap Shoot”

(come on, be honest)

There was a trainer in Southern Illinois named Pizatola who spelled her name backwards and named her horse Alotazip. And there was Bates Motel who sired Blondeinashower.

I never did understand how the Jockey Club allowed Bodacious Tatas, though.

So, who was a lucky boy then Beastal? And that means you are shouting the bar for this years G’dope Chrissy Party!!

That’ll teach ya to be a smug bugger. :stuck_out_tongue:

There is the legendary Lithgow racehorse Rooting King, often referred to by Rampaging Roy Slaven (of Roy and HG fame, of course).

Hi Antechinus…y’know, I’ve actually SEEN a dinkum antechinus in the wild. I got to hold it too, but that’s only because the creature was lying comatose on the side of a bush track that we happened to be traversing in the VW. They’re normally worse than platypusses when it comes to being visible to your average human, but we got lucky this day. My (then) 7 yr old was the first to spot it, and he knew immediately that this was no ordinary mouse…and he even knew how to pronounce its name too!!!

OK, back to Rooting Kings and other Roy and HG Classics.

Pie-O-My

As for greyhounds, I say let the monkeys themselves name them:

[ Note for furriners: ‘Norfolk’ is a county in England ]

Apparently the UK authorities once had a submission to name a horse ‘Norfolk & Chance’ and came very close to granting it, only noticing at the 11th hour why they couldn’t allow it.

**‘Norfolk & Chance’ **

That is brilliant.

[continuing kambucktas hijack] That was fortunate for you to see one, though not too fortunate for the critter. I hope you roused it from the coma.[/continuing kambuctas hijack]

Squirtle Squirt. I don’t know what the Hell it means, but I had him to win at 9-1 in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Sprint.
