Best RPG games for the xbox...?

I read the discussion with interest in this thread…

I am a fan of RPG style games (Remember Dungeon Master on the Atari ST – my all time favourite). I don’t yet own an xbox, but plan to buy on soon, in the next week or so.
(By arrangement my friend is buying s PS2 so we can cover all the bases, games-wise)

Anyhow, who has played any of these (I realise some are not released on xbox yet), and which come well recommended, and which are not worth the bother?
I seriously doubt I will ever buy more than two of the following games, so which of the following would be the best one (or two) to buy, in terms of varied experience, playability and longevity of interest.

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance

Mech Assault

Splinter Cell

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Medal of Honor: Frontline

Deathrow

Gothic

Ultimate Blade of Darkness

Phantasy Star On-line

Star Wars : Knights of the Old Republic

Shenmue II

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Thanks for your input… (and feel free to add other games which fit the RPG-ish genre, but I have not listed here)

I suggest Knights of the Old Republic. Thats shaping up to be a good game.

Elder Scrolls is good, but not everybody can get used to its style. If you want an immersive, fully realized fantasy world, this is the one to play, though.

I would vote against Phantasy Star. But I don’t like MMORPG’s in general, and definately not when I can’t type.

Splinter Cell looks awesome, but of course, we don’t have a good idea of exactly what the gaem will be (that old prediction problem…)

Thanks SB.

I quite like the idea of teh complete flexibility of Elder Scrolls III, so will be checking it out ASAP.

Anyone else play RPG’s on their xbox?

I have completed about 80% of Morrowind on the XBox, it is cool.

TC’s Splinter Cell and MOH: Frontline are supposed to be kickass games, they are the next 2 I am going to buy.
