I’ve worked with CafePress in the past and they seemed okay on quality but required high prices in order to net any profit to the publisher.
Now, I’m thinking about a new t-shirt design and wanted to ask if there are any new competitors out there? I’m looking for the ability to upload images for clothing and to sell the products through their site. I don’t want to hold products here at the house if I can help it.
What are the current options out there? Has anyone ordered from them and are they happy with the services?
As a buyer, not seller, don’t use Skreened.com. Their quality is really lame and blurry (but inexpensive) and I only use them for one-off shirts when I’m going to a show and actually meet the band or something. (Or not, when they cancel the three shows you had Meet and Greet tickets for - THANKS BIG TIME RUSH!)
There is one other place I ordered from and the name escapes me, but I think it had “red” in the url. Also blurry and “meh” quality. The one custom shirt I do like IS I think from CafePress. I would go with quality over initial profit and hope it leads to repeat business.
I use Zazzle.com and am perfectly happy with them. They handle all manufacturing, billing, and shipping, and pay you a royalty (which you set), with volume bonuses, referral bonuses, etc. Quality of products is good; quality of printing is good.
