CafePress, Zazzle, etc.

I’m looking at promotional merchandise for a client whose social media I handle. Anyone have any experience and/or knowledge of CafePress and/or Zazzle?

How are they on fulfillment, reliable? Problems with getting payment from them in a timely manner? Which is the better deal for the seller? Etc. I’m so early in this project I’m not entirely sure what questions I should be asking.

Thanks in advance.

I ordered some t-shirts and hats from Cafe Press once. I don’t remember any problems with timing and delivery, but I do remember being underwhelmed with the quality of the artwork. It just looked really dull and cheap.

This is something that I’d be providing the artwork, so that’s not an issue, hopefully, if they can adequately deal with the JPEG I send.

Ah, I should have said the quality of their *printing *was a problem. I *did *provide the artwork, done by a professional artist on publishing software. But their printed shirts and hats looked like crap when they came out.

But that was a few years ago. Maybe they’ve improved. I’d recommend you do a test run before you start publicizing your products.

I’ve been incredibly happy with Zazzle, both as a consumer and seller. On the consumer side, they run lots of free shipping and various discount deals that keep me coming back. As a seller, they are prompt and everything is good.

CafePress has crazy expensive shipping, if I remember correctly, and it’s harder to find coupons. No me gusta.

Useful information, both of you, thanks.

I bought a shirt from Zazzle once and was also underwhelmed by the quality of the printing and the shirt itself. That was at least 6-7 years ago though so hopefully they’ve improved things a lot since then.

CafePress does all our theatre stuff. In the last year I’ve purchased tee-shirts, coffee mugs, pajamas and a heavyweight zipped hoodie all with our theatre logo - or a show’s logo on it - and the results have been uniformly excellent. All orders have arrived in less than half the time I was told they’d be delivered.

Color me a satisfied customer.
