Why did you think it tastes so good?
That’s what I figured, it’s like ice cream!
Nobody’s mentioned beer?
I’m just over the wisdom tooth horror.
For the first few days I lived on soup left to cool until barely warm with plain store bought white bread broken up and put in the soup, ice cream left to go soft and lose a lot of it’s coldness and baked beans in tomato sauce. I just thought of it as fuel rather than enjoyment.
Oh and yogurt with a lot of hash in it ![]()
Horrible time, I feel for her. Lynn Bodoni is right though. She needs to follow any advice given to her about avoiding dry socket coz that is horrible.
Spoil her rotten though and cut her a lot of slack. You really feel miserable for a good few days after.
Haha maybe if it mixed better with vicodin… Thanks everyone for your input, its been super helpful, so far I have had watermelon sorbet, but overall, I’m not that hungry.
I’m not a big fan of yogurt! I wish I was… But I’ll try it for the time being.
Once again, thank you, and anything you can think of to make an easy transition to more solid foods would be wonderful too!
Currently, I am puffy faced, sore, tired, and trying to get through day 2… its not my favorite.
P.s. Thank you for making this thread <34567.
This is definitely a case of varying mileage. I’ve always been able to eat hot cereal such as oatmeal and Cream of Wheat within a few hours of having an extraction. I do let it cool down quite a bit before I eat it, so that it’s merely warm instead of hot. I have really never chewed oatmeal at all. Being able to ingest fiber without having to crunch it is great. I will again say that Slimfast and similar products can be a lifesaver, as they are tasty (to me, at least) and very nutritious.
Tuna salad, chicken salad, etc. can be made up and put in a food processor to “soften” without losing too very much of its general ‘character’.
I’ll second (third, fourth, whatever) cream soups, yogurt, mashed potatoes and puddings.
Cookie dough!
Here’s a couple of related threads for you.

tonight i had stuffed shells that i made, it was easy to chew with my front teeth, and easy to swallow… nutritious and an actual meal…
he promised to make me mac and cheese tomorrow… ahaha : )
we have some of this, i stumble over the chocolate chips, evidently a poor cookie dough choice.
I like Boost and Ensure (essentially the same stuff if you look at the ingredients, just different brands). They taste like milkshakes to me, and they are liquid meal replacements, i.e. they have lots of vitamins and good stuff like that.
I just had all 4 wisdom teeth removed last month. The first couple of days I lived on yogurt, pudding, mashed potatoes and applesauce (actually those little cups of peach applesauce). Oh, and ice cream. By day 3 I was able to eat scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, cottage cheese and bananas. I was still a bit worried about pieces getting stuck in the holes in my mouth, but by day 4-5 I was able to pretty much eat any pasta, chicken cut up into tiny pieces, fish (white fish, salmon) really anything but really hard crunchy things.
